Graham Thorpe is like the Paul Gascoigne of cricket for England, one of the few shinning lights in an abysmal era (1990-2003).

Gone too soon .... Graham Thorpe was England's most consistent batsman for a decade, during the period from early '90s to early 2000s. He was equally adept at batting under varying conditions against almost any kind of attack, becoming their savior more often than not ....

He's too low in his stance, just asking for back trouble later in his career.
@Ahmed-1573 жыл бұрын
that's a thing too? had no idea.
@acmdv3 жыл бұрын
@@Ahmed-157 Yeah, should stay as upright as possible in your batting stance with a slight bend in the knees pushing down on the balls of the feet. Only bend the back when moving into the shot - Marcus Trescothick & Joe Root would be good example to follow, both stay very upright until the ball is about to be delivered (as the bowler reaches the crease). By bending too much in your batting stance (both knees and back in the case of this video) you put pressure on the back, hips, thighs, hamstrings & knees which ups the chances of one or more of them becoming a problem (such as in Joe Root's case - this is why he is so upright in his batting stance because of back problems). I can't believe no one hasn't noticed this in this young cricketers technique.

These won’t work when playing against a true spinner of the ball like a rashid khan or Munjeeb
@grovsey3656 Жыл бұрын
Neither of those actually turn the ball..🤣 in test cricket they are useless because they rely on batsmen slogging them in 20/20.
