Bruh I would look serious and talk seriously at first and then when I look in his face I will burst into laughter cause he would remind me of anything 😂

I was thinking to start my answer from the moment she begins to cry rather than starting from before like he did. I like how he did it though.

Is it just me or does Eden’s face epitomise studying medicine?

I think it's important to let the patient know some basics about her conditions. I understand the patient may not be in the best state of mind to appreciate all the details but I do think them having some idea of what she is facing with is important so the patient does not feel completely vulnerable and hopeless when they go home. Otherwise they may start frantically looking up information on the internet that is incorrect and which can demoralise them even more as well as add in unnecessary stress to the equation. I would go into the details in a later consultation with family members (if they want them ofc!) for support.

Agreed, more important in MMIs to show the emotional side really well but IRL yeah definitely still create a plan and do some education

This isn't an acting station since no acting is going on. They're just explaining what they'd do, it's a straight up situational problem. If the interview took the role of the patient then it would be an acting question.

hey man, love the videos. i was wondering if there was any advantage of staying in the room after answering the question when time isnt up. is it just purely in case you think of something else or is there some other sort of advantage (maybe examiners are looking to see if you rush out the room or something?)?

Hi Jezza in my experience it's generally the examiner that will give you direction if you finish early. They may suggest you stay in case you can think of anything. Or they may say you have completed the task. Hope this helps

Agreed. They will usually guide you further. As for all interviews being natural and acting normally is critical, if you suddenly stand up and walk out, then the interviewer asks you to sit down awkwardly it may be a disadvantage and equally if you make small talk it probably has a neutral effect if any. Let them lead you.

So acting interviews you are not actually interacting with a pretend patient? You are still describing how you would handle the situation?

Hope Lyle i’m acting station, you would pretend to interact with a patient. This is not an acting station though

This is more of a descriptive emotional station. There are other station types where there is an actor and an assessor both in the room.

i would just say " Now it's not as bad as it may sound though it is still called cancer. Many girls have this even without knowing as it is not that bad. However certain steps are obviously to be taken. Medication procedure will undoubtedly help you. Now don't cry like it's a big fuss fool."( Still joking and smiling) I'm not silly... My father told me your patient will be 50% healed if u make them happy
