Oddly enough I needed this video and I’m not one bit concerned now

@highlandcycles I was mainly concerned about getting the crank and bearings out but they seem nonchalant. Looking forwards to the case bearings and assembly video.

@ me too. It will be a bit because Crank Works takes some time.

@ Can you do a video with the bearing removal and install included? I watched your previous 125 bottom end video and didn’t see much about it. Just a little please :)

9:40 I finally got mad at scarring up or squishing dowel pins when they're stubborn. Yes you can use a tap to grab and pull them but that's a pain in the ass too. I went ahead and spent the money on the Motion Pro dowel puller. I have used it WAY more than I expected. At $2 to $6 a piece for replacement dowels, it pays for itself pretty quick when you work on old, nasty stuff. One unexpected bonus is that it can be used to remove some float needle seats (at least in some Keihin FCRs I've worked on) when they're old and crusty and stuck tight! 11:18 It's worth nothing that a lot of those crank primary gear bolts are reverse thread. Definitely in KTMs. 12:27 Great tip. Case comes off easier when it has wiggle room, and removing the countershaft seal helps. 13:10 I've used that same case splitter from Tusk for quite a while. Wish it had the point, but since it doesnt, I often "glue" a penny in there with a dab of grease so it doesn't walk around and scar up the end of the crank. No biggie on cases that come apart easy, but on the ones where you really need some uggaduggas, it's nice not to worry about screwing that up.

I use a chainsaw file on 2t bridges. Probably doesn't make a difference, but it looks cleaner.

That’s coming once I get them back from being cleaned and I get all the bearings out. I’ll mate them up with nothing in them to make it easier

While we are here has anyone ever put all new bearing in cases then upon reassembly the engine just seems a little to tight? I guess that's why heat cycles and break in process is there 🤷♂️
