Hi. I’m from Thailand. We just cut it out 50-60% to get 30-40% for premium size and to prevent it dropping in first 2 months(Barhi;5 months for harvest in my country) After 2 months We wrap them by the paper and net-insect for fruit cuz rained country.

Thanks for suggestion. Do you use paper or polythene to protect it from rain? We have very hot and dry climate. Temperature now a day are like 46C to 48C . I only have one tree and it is transplanted. I brought it from nursery and this is his first year at fruiting after transplant. What is your suggestion to stop fruit drop?

@@GrowInContainer it’s paper, wax paper to wrapping “Dates palm wrapping bag” it can protect from rain and sunburn. And how to stop fruit dropping? 1) what’s your date palm species? such as Ajwa Barhi Majhool Deglet noor or another 2) how long you pollinate them? 2 months? If they are 2-3 months after pollinated it’s normal to drop some fruit. Cuz Date palm tree can keep and leave some fruit depending on fertilizer; Calcium and Boron. ***notice you must water date palm every day. How’s must? As you can.

- Here farmer use white polythene to protect them from rain. - I know about fruit thinning but it is good for farmer's as i only have one tree. - They are around 2 months old and i give them calcium, nitrogen, phosphorous and micro nutrients and it works in start but then start again. - Ajwa, Barhi, Majhool plants are very expensive here so i chose khunaizi verity. - Main issue that i am guessing is over-watering. so i stop water for 1 week to find-out the result
