Good job! I do the same with my long level, works good

At last, i have found somebody who is down to earth and lives in the real world. Thank you for your video. I am a75 yr old retired engineer who has just swapped lathes and milling machines for table saw and circular saw. Your video made a lot of sense to me and was very easy to understand. Now i can start using rough sawn timber instead of square 4 sides. More accurate and cheaper. i will certainly be looking for more videos from your good self.

Thank you for the walk through. Now that i have a trusted square fence on my table saw i can do this myself. I did recently get a nice planer so that can help with 1 of the steps. You really made it simple stupid which some of us need 🤣

@@486woodworks5 I’m so glad it helps. I’ve done thousands of feet like this as all I use are slabs. It takes practice but once you get the hang of it it’s easy.

You got a beautiful work shop! PPE is overrated, but you should hook you up an outfeed table.

If using this method but needing a board that is 5 inches wide or more, do you just have to get surfaced, then rip a pieces as the thickness you want, then do a panel glue up?
@StevenNeill-i1m5 күн бұрын
@@bobbybuildsit if I understand your question then essentially yes. The easier was to do it is to measure your maximum blade height, cut your stock to just under that, then use this method to get to SVS and then resaw into bookmarked pieces, reglue and cut to size. Alternatively if you have a planer you cut it to the width you need, use the planer to surface top and bottom then the saw to surface the sides. I’ll do a video on it
