I never cared about that until my manager said something about me not having a big ass (which was a shock to him because latina girls usually are curvier)and then close family would mention it. I have heard the argument that the person is not there to meet people to date but if that is the reason, then shouldn’t that apply to almost all of life? People don’t go to school, get groceries, do their hobbies, go to work in order to date. People may not even go to clubs and bars to meet people. So why is the gym the exception? As for the argument that women have to deal with dummies hitting on them there, isn’t that the case everywhere? I hear from my friends that they get hit on often and they never go to the gym. It seems to me that there is nothing special about the gym that makes it better or worse than other places. Therefore, if it is appropriate to hit on people elsewhere it should be fine to do so in the gym or it is never fine to talk to anyone in any situation.

Coming from a married man myself. Does a person really need to reevaluate their relationship if physical attraction is enough to lose interest? Because even if that partner is everything he ever wanted in a person if you aren’t attracted to your partner at that point you are just best friends/roommates. That’s when the “you don’t touch me or kiss me anymore “ type stuff comes in.

I think they mean reevaluate in the sense of what’s the hierarchy of what really means the most to you in a relationship. Plus what got you pulled into it in the first place. I personally never want someone’s main thing that pulled them in and kept them interested in me to be how I look. I would want that to be a plus if anything. Now if they claim that they felt the same when having that discussion but me gaining weight threw them that off then that’s when things need to be reevaluated. Because now the narrative is completely different. That doesn’t mean that vanity isn’t going to be a factor at all. To me instead of just saying, “hey you gained weight”, why not get into their mental first to see if they’re ok and let them go into their own journey on their own time. Or like Nikki said you guys work on it together. That’s my take. Now if it’s getting really crazy then the main thing to me should be getting that person help because it really comes down to health first.

But to me, someone letting themselves go is moreso not trying to dress nice at all anymore, bad hygiene, hair always looking crazy, etc. And even still I’d want to figure out is there something going on with them mentally? Weight fluctuates for a lot of people so it wouldn’t throw me off that much personally unless again it gets extreme. But it just goes to show everyone is different, I just would want that conversation up front as to how they perceive that type of stuff. I can’t be mad if that’s been the case, all I was saying is don’t switch up on me down the line when you said that wasn’t really a deal breaker. And if it is that much a problem then I would resent them if they didn’t try to mentally help me first, and then do this journey with me when I feel right. Don’t just mention it and leave me feeling pressured to snap back because now it’s a strain on our relationship.

If you love someone your with and they love you then you just tell them that their gaining weight and we should get a handle on it before before it gets out of hand. Pretending like it’s not a issue is going to make things worse in the long run and your partner will notice something is wrong when the sex’s and closeness gets less and less. Tell them and if it kills your relationship then your relationship wasn’t real at all.

Haven't watched the video. but answering the question in the thumbnail. If it's a guy, just tell him straight up he's getting too big. If he's sensitive, tell them that you want them to be healthy so they need to start cutting back on calories and increasing exercise. If it's a lady, only go with the latter. People will argue about eating disorders. You can't tippy toe around this type of stuff. Health should always be a first priority. If they don't get the message then you have to decide whether you want to deal with them. The Avacado dude is a good example of someone not giving him an ultimatum.
