A suggestion for a future money talks segment on 2CC. It seems that you talk about super balances around the 1 million mark. At this stage of life a lot of people approaching retirement age don't have a lot in super. For example a couple has around $300,000 to $500,000 balance can a pension be started from your super including the aged pension. Hopefully this makes sense.

It makes perfect sense, the figure of 1,000,000 is used simply to keep the numbers round and easy for people to follow, so if we say 5% it’s 50,000. The balance is actually irrelevant it’s the methodology we are trying to illustrate to explain the topic of the day.

That hasn't answer the question about aged pension and pension from your super combined I do think it would be useful to explain on one of your segments as not all of us here in Canberra are superannuation rich.
