How do you use a seeded random number generator in JavaScript?

I'm new to random numbers. This might be really obvious, but right now I'm trying to understand how I use the seeded random number to assign to unique values? I assume I need to get from that number an x & y position for the player, for each door and item, the number of items to be placed, the width and height of the room etc?
