@@DeathxThexKid100because that is not a sparring, it was a demonstration. Why do you think american soldiers train with filipinos with knife and close quarter combat? Simple answer EFFECTIVENESS AND LETHALITY.
@DeathxThexKid10010 ай бұрын
@@ralphjohngutierrez7007 Most combative programs are about 6 weeks. Any other hand to hand training for a soldier is optional. Which for the record, is still not even a beginner within that time frame. Most don't bother training in more martial arts for the very, very simple reason that both of my Judo instructors have said (who each were former army, and I have another judo instructor who was a marine who also agrees) that if a soldier finds himself in a hand to hand situation with the enemy on a battlefield, everything is so horribly, and unbelievably wrong. So if any soldier is unironically training this, then they are in for a rough time if they have to use it for real because there is nothing to use. No stick out in the aether is anywhere close to being that rigid or are the same weight in common military use. Even tree branches are not even remotely the same as the sticks found in stick fighting arts. And in no way is a stick beating the enemies gun and his friends, which the enemy will definitely have. Karambits have been a widely disproven mall ninja weapon. They are farming implements that got reworked to being used as garbage weapons not out of effectiveness, but necessity. If anything, you are seeing in the military straight edge full tang survival blades which those are used for utility, not combat. You don't know as much as you think you do.

@@mpa324 Kali/Escrima is a general term for Filipino Martial Arts. There are different systems/styles that fall underneath the umbrella of Kali/Eskrima, one of which is Balintawak. Balintawak is the name of the street where the school was. The systems are named after the founders of the style or where it came from. Think of Korea, you have Tae Kwon Do, Tang Soo Do, Hwa Rang Do, Hapkido, etc. Other systems like Silat have many similarities to Kali, but would not fall under Eskrima as it's not Filipino.
