If you're getting more feral cats around that is probably why Cheddar is spraying more. It's his way of telling the strangers to keep their distance. I know it is not a fun part of cat ownership, he is only protecting his your property. In the long run it may help keep the invaders away. 😿 Please don't try to re-home him, he'd never understand being given away.

Cheddar spraying is good, it's keeping untold amounts of pesky leaf eating critters out of your gardens and outbuildings. He is the alpha of the cats, so it's his job. Any animal that crosses his barrier is fair game. Give him extra pets, not a trip elsewhere. He is just doing his job of being a cat. 😊

@claudiaceleste7779 ай бұрын
@@eury5405yes and no. An intact male is spraying to keep intruders out, but also to let female cats know he’s available. Females and neutered cats generally don’t spray but that’s not to say they won’t. I believe all the GA cats are neutered; spraying can also be a stress reaction to outside issues however I think Cheddar is really desperately trying to warn the feral cats away. I have a similar issue with a male who was neutered at six months, and who started spraying at four years of age because strays were coming onto the property overnight, and he was really anxious!

Aaron is correct…. I’m in my 24th year as a residential real estate appraiser. Adding solar doesn’t add to the value of your home. Your property is what we refer to as a pink elephant. It will take a special kind of buyer to purchase your home for the true value. It will take a lot of time and national marketing time. I had a pink elephant here in Maine with an insane lake and Mountain View and when I saw the for sale sign go up I wished I would get the job to appraise it. Well….I got the job and it was horribly hard to make sure I did all the proper research. I would absolutely love to get to walk through your property but I think I learned my lesson….I wouldn’t want the responsibility of being the appraiser. 😂 I had my son at 29 which initially I felt I was late having him but I’m so glad I did. Like Laura, I was able to work the majority of my time at home and have my son there as well (with daily help).

Hi Laura and Aaron, 🌻When you once shared about getting hurtful comments, I thought to myself, “No way, who would find fault in you two?” Then I started to read the comments about Cheddar and my oh my! The opinions and disagreements are flying high. I often think if we could see each other face to face to discuss our differences 95% of our comments would be kinder and gentler. I wish this was the case in every situation where we disagree with each other. Please, everyone, let’s tread lightly and lovingly with each other and if you feel you just can’t, then please refrain from commenting at all. Keeping the peace is so much more important than sharing our negative feelings. Laura and Aaron, I’m sorry you’ve gotten so many “insights“ today about Cheddar. I’m sorry if you’ve read the comments. I hope you both have a restful weekend. I love your videos and I look forward to each one. 🌻🌷🪴

@@judybrock5360 Judy, what an odd thing to say. Being rude is not acceptable. Their cats and their decisions about their cats has nothing to do with their “thriving” business. We used to burn the grass when I was a kid. It did grow back fairly quickly, although I don’t know if it was healthier or not. We did it when our only lawnmower was a push mower and had half an acre of lawn. It’s an old timey solution.

We have a natural gas Generac Generator so worth it. Solar you would have to replace batteries every few years. They take up space and kill birds! Where we are it is common to loose power. One thanksgiving no power but we had power and a great meal!

I’ve been thinking about this. Do you mind me asking how much of an investment I could expect to make in one for a 2400 square foot house? Or approximately?
@Gin08279 ай бұрын
@@cynthiafisher9907Cynthia, we looked into it. You would look for a whole house Generac. They currently range between 5 and 7 thousand at Lowe’s. A 250 gal propane tank was our situation and it did not have enough surface propane so the Propane Co. said we would need a 500 gal. Propane tank to be optimal. You can lease the Propane tanks so that is recurring costs along with refills. Then installation of all that is dependent on your area. Electricians are putting them in frequently so they can drop you a quick quote. All components combined run around 10K. Hope that helps.

@@Gin0827 Oh, thank you so much! We have natural gas, so maybe it would be a bit less for us. It sounds doable and a good idea in case of a power outage.

Just managed to watch the highlights video (Monday) because Sunday was Mother’s Day here in the uk. Sitting down enjoying a coffee, then screamed with delight when you read my question regarding lights for seed starting. Thank you so much because I did try to find the answer for myself but couldn’t find what I wanted, plus I kept getting advertisements for grow lights. Easter is my birthday (8th April) so I think a very early birthday present to myself is on the cards. Unfortunately I’ve just killed a load of Calendula seeds because they were leggy and I thought I could transplant them a little deeper in pots……nope! Going to reseed as soon as I get some grow lights.

Rye grass stays green in the winter but you will need to keep cutting in the winter. I just spread rye seeds two weeks ago and gas all germinated. We burn grass in the south. Fires kills bad insects in there as well and for sure helps your grass stay healthier. So if you want to spread rye grass you still can. It will die once temperatures start heating up and will come back in the winter. When it comes to prepping, I like to be prepared for at least a year in case, if anything happens. We do have a generator because of hurricanes and secondary heating system. Other than that we don't over prep, You are right Aaron; you have to be able to defend what you have as well. Our state just passed constitutional carry so there would be no problem 😂

Lady banks rose is also thornless. It’s a pretty yellow rose

We have a variety here in the south called Peggy Martin, also thornless, but I can’t think of any that are not climbing roses.

My nursery sold me bags of annual rye, & perennial rye mixed up. Oops. My surprise when rye was coming up & l hadn't planted it yet. Lol

Hi guys, quick info for Aaron... the life span of a solar panel is about 15 years so just as you're breaking even you have to replace them 😢
@ellieziaie53899 ай бұрын
You could clad your barns with solar panels ( that are specific for walls) and your roofs

Good morning Aaron and Laura. Love my Sunday mornings with you two! Aaron look at tall fescue to keep the grass green in the winter. I have a blend of tall fescue and KY blue. My fescue stays green all winter in zone 6b. Blessings

I love the deep, rich green of tall fescue!!! It’s my favorite grass but I cannot grow it in my yard. In my area it takes tons of water and shade to grow it and even then it gets diseased and thins due to heat and humidity. It’s gorgeous though!!!

In reference to the Green Velvet boxwoods, I have them and Sprinters. My Sprinters always get horrible spider mites, and my Green Velvets never have spider mites. I'd be interested to see if you experience that in your garden. I feel both look the same in the winter in terms of burn. I feel my Spinters look slightly worse. The Green Velvets do not have the glossy leaves that the Sprinters hold onto year round. I hope this helps.
