AS A FRESHER IN OFF SHORE ITS VERY INFORMATIVE AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND. GREAT EFFORT FROM PROFESSOR. LOOK FORWARD MORE INFORMATIVE VIDEOS IN OFFSHORE. SIR PLEASE DO A VIDEO ABOUT THE MUD AND FLUIDS USED IN OFFSHORE DRILLING.

Yes, we have ideas for many further episodes. Offshore Drilling is one of them. It´s on the list!

Hwo about anular preventer

Why annular preventer on top when rig up
@funwithdrillingengineering76497 ай бұрын
You ask why the annular preventer is found on the top end of the preventer stack? Well... You only use the annular preventer, if the other preventers (rams) cannot be used. Therefore seen from the borehole the kick will first arrive at the Rams, and then at the annular preventer. Does that answer your question? Best regards!

very interesting video!... however how do you restore production after the BOP cuts the pipe and seal the flow??
@andrewdemoranville96573 жыл бұрын
I've been wondering the same
@funwithdrillingengineering76493 жыл бұрын
@@andrewdemoranville9657 during drilling operations there is no "production". If everything goes well, no oil or gas enters the well during drilling. However, of course a "fish" in the borehole has to be removed before drilling can be continued. There are special fishing companies who are specialized in pulling a lost piece of a drill string out of the borehole.

Good video. So the BOP are pneumatically (nitrogen) operated? I was thinking they are hydraulically operated. Thanks.
@funwithdrillingengineering76493 жыл бұрын
They are hydraulically operated, but the energy to move the hydraulic fluid is provided by pressurized nitrogen in the top of the bottles.
@cck14963 жыл бұрын
@@funwithdrillingengineering7649 Thanks. I got you.... Nitrogen should be in bladder for pushing hydraulic fluid out (just like accumulator). Thanks for the clarification.

Sir plz tell me how can I get access to your lecture "drilling engineering one" about which You are asking in the video
@funwithdrillingengineering76493 жыл бұрын
Dear Muhammad, "Drilling Engineering I" is one of our lectures in the program "Geotechnics and Mining" at our technical university in Freiberg. We´d like to encourage you to suscribe. :-)
@funwithdrillingengineering76493 жыл бұрын
"Drilling Engineering 1" is not a book but a lecture here in Freiberg, which I teach. I wrote a book called "Hunting underground", which I can recommend, but I am not sure, if it is still available. Please feel free to check.

Nice video, sir. May i ask u something? Is there any new innovation or technology about BOP?
@funwithdrillingengineering76494 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot, Fadhil! BOPs are always improved and optimized in small steps, this is an ongoing process - like everything in drilling engineering. However, the main principle, which is shown in our video clip, is still the same. It is proven and reliable technology.
