That sub-bass note dividing - i first saw that from Mark Sherry, when he showed some tutorial videos back in the day. That's quite genious, because somehow I was always struggling to get that compressor right, when I put it on one single channel of SUB. In this way, it's much more easy, and immediate result. Great to see that another ace is using this technique. ;) Awesome video Adam. :) Cheers!

i knew it. i knew compressing or adjusting subs to balance out the volume between notes was a real thing. i asked a producer i met about doing that and they turned me off of the idea. also, wow, the layering here is crazy.
@adamellistutorials3 ай бұрын
Try both bro. Try this. Find the difference beteeen the loudest and quietest note (do this by adding each note on its own layer), let’s say it’s 6dB. Do it manually and then export it. So, you’ve manually balanced the sub. Then do a second version but without the extra layers, just do a compressor and compress it by the difference between the quietest to loudest sub volume. Export that. Then see how it sounds. Does doing it manually make a difference? Il do a video on this too.

Hey thanks for the mixdown! dosen't logic have a note velocity function like ableton? would save doing 4 instances of sub bass

A super video! I remember having the same problem when I upgraded from FL Studio 20 to 21. The entire project I was working on was in shambles. I do have a question though... what is parallel compression?
@adamellistutorials3 ай бұрын
is an audio technique that mixes a compressed signal with the original uncompressed signal. This allows you to control the dynamic range and increase the presence and clarity of the sound without losing its naturalness.
@kirandeeanork3 ай бұрын
@@adamellistutorials Wouldn't it be easier to just reduce the mix amount on the compressor until you get a balance between the compressed and dynamic signal? I've always found compression to be a tricky topic in general theory let alone implementing it in a project hahaha. But keep up the amazing work mate. These videos really do help very small time artists such as myself.

Track sounds great man. Not a logic user but I was trying to look at the peaks on the master. Am I correct that the kick is hitting -2. Just trying to get my head round where all the other elements are sitting against it. Do you have a general rule of thumb to how loud the elements should be compared to the kick?
