We have had a very wet summer in Alaska so there is a lot of mud. I took my HDI Argo out into the Alaskan backcountry for a little test drive. Even though I have had it out a lot, I am always surprised how it does in the mud.

Personally, I like to watch someone else do the winching too.😂 I wasn’t sure if I should show the winch scene or how to splice it together so it made sense, but didn’t take too long. Thank you for the feedback.

I do have a video coming up where I take it all apart to do repairs on the frame and so people can see how it’s all built. Additionally, as per your request, I will do a trailer in the field video as well.👍🏽

When I first built the trailer, I put together a series of pics of the build and a little highlight reel of it in the field. I just went back and watched it to see if it showcase what you ask for. I will say, on a different note, it’s amazing how small my kids were. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2SyiWuXhpJ_aMksi=fDjk7lIAImpV_HJe

Guys you could do with a couple of land anchors. Join them together on one winch cable , and the more stress you put on them , the deeper into the ground they grab.

To answer your question, it depends on what tracks you put on it. The Standard OEM tracks don't do so well, but it appears you have the Adair Tracks. Those do very well in mud and snow.

If Bill Dance can have Ranger Boats sponsor his fishing show, Argo needs to sponsor your moose hunting. You are a rolling advertisement for their product. Don Draper and Peggy Olson could not come up with better marketing than what you are doing with your videos. 👍

Do you think AK bush tracks would be better or worse than yours? Thanks
@RaisedinAlaska2 ай бұрын
Great question: I have a buddy who has some older Alaska Bush Tracks and we have had our machines out together. His older, metal grouser tracks, are not my favorite. They now make the same tracks with UHMW plastic grousers, which I believe is a huge improvement. I do not any experience with the newer version. That said, the way the tracks are constructed they provide gear reduction and greater flotation than my tracks. At the end of the day, I think each track model has a place where it excels and places where they are not the perfect fit for the terrain. We were out together this fall and I did some filming of his machine, with the AK Bush Tracks, but have not started the editing process of that trip. In my buddy’s experience, the AK Bush Track folks work hard to support their products and are super knowledgeable.

Quite the machine, those are some rough trails. How many miles do you normally have to travel to hunt?

Are the tracks required for going through mud? Or are the stock wheels of the Argo good enough?
@RaisedinAlaskaАй бұрын
That’s a great question. The stock wheels and tires will go through a lot of different kinds of terrain very well: however, the tracks give the machine a lot more flotation in mud and bogs. So while they’re not required, it does improve the machines performance and mud significantly.
