No she wasn’t. She was a byproduct of the problem. Both Evelyn and Michael admitted on several occasions that they were having problems in their marriage before Wanda. Michael said that Wanda gave him an escape from Evelyn’s behavior… I’m assuming he meant on an emotional level. And as anyone will tell you, when you are unhappy in your relationship, you will eventually gravitate to the person who puts their hands out to you and is there for you. So eventually Michael and Wanda’s relationship went from emotional intimacy to physically intimacy. After seeing Evelyn’s behavior throughout the season and then her behavior on the Iyanla episode in addition to what Trina said in her own episode on Iyanla, I believe Evelyn truly drove him crazy

Ms. Evelyn did a grave disservice to her daughters. She gave them anger, confusion, strife, and manipulation. She allowed her feelings as the wife of an adulterer, to be transferred and taken on by her children, in her own effort to be the victim and to have the support. So from my understanding this was the only man Evelyn has been with before the divorce. He cheated for 9 years and divorced after over 20 years. Toni didn't invite Ms Wanda to the wedding. He walked Toni down the aisle and gave her away. But when Trina had her wedding and didn't invite Ms Wanda, he didn't show up to Walk her down the aisle. He didn't show up to give her away. Traci and Michael was the closest to him because while Tamar and Trina and Towanda had uprooted and relocated to Atlanta to be with Toni, Traci and Michael stayed put in the Maryland DMV area, in the same vicinity as him. I reside with Toni on a lot of things because I myself am the first born. I have 6 siblings (one on my moms side because she got remarried and my dad well… chile, anyways) and all us first borns wanna do is just keep the peace and just have everyone close together. We are the first ones to be around our parents so we understand their struggles and their emotions because we’ve got to see and understand before our younger siblings understand. In my opinion, yes every has a role in the story. Papa Braxton, Ms. Wanda, etc. If Papa Braxton was unhappy that doesn’t mean go cheat, that means sit down have a conversation with your spouse and get a divorce if that’s where the conversation leads to because you took an oath to love and hold and to cherish one another till death did you part. Communication is key. Also, everyone’s feelings and opinions are valid and i’m happy that the sisters saw Ms Wanda wasn’t the reason for all the madness

ummmmmm they were grown as fuck when their parents got divorced. while his affair is low down and dirty, their momma made them feel like they needed to choose a side which is dead ass wrong. his deciding to not communicate with his children was also dead as wrong. but that didn’t mean they couldn’t communicate with him. tracy spoke with her dad hints as to why she was always the outsider. A lot people don't understand because they didn't grow up in two parent household so this type of brokenness seems normal. What Michael and Wanda did was so fundamental disrespectful to their entire family unit. Regardless of what Miss E says, that could be difficult if not impossible for a child to reconcile. If my father did what Michael did, the relationship would definitely be different and I would never accept Wanda. But because a lot of people grew up in homes where the family was never a unit, it's hard for people to understand the principle of this kind of disregard for the family unit.
