Not seeing any real advantage to the X6200, more money less power... looks like a flop to me. The chrome bars are fugly also. Not interested in this radio at all. Have the 6100 and happy with it.

I like that you can detach the battery on the x6200 - I think that could make air travel easier with it (where TSA only lets you bring them as carry-on, and where other countries might want you to unplug the battery from the radio and block the terminals).

I haven't had trouble with TSA and radios. Its more of a "can the see through it" issue - "density" than it is a "what's that?"

I made the mistake of starting with a g90 and have no where to upgrade to. 😢 this is twice the price less than half the power and not much smaller. Where g95 with 40w @500usd While a decent upgrade from a 6100 it’s just way too expensive for a china qrp radio.

What are your thoughts on the added weight? I know that with some Devices wait is added purely from an ergonomically standpoint. Is that the case here or do you think the internal components have increased in weight like the screen battery etc? Lower power output and changing from metal to plastic I would have thought would reduce the weight or at least keep it the same
@temporarilyoffline
@temporarilyoffline 5 ай бұрын
For sure the adding of a replaceable batter system adds weight, but yes I would have guessed that going to plastics would have lowered it back down. It's confusing for sure. When I open one up I'll know a bit more.

Interesting that the 6100 at 10W was consuming slightly less amperage than the 6200 at 8W. It's a negligible difference, but interesting anyway.

It looks like that the SDR draws a lot of current compering to K3, K2. My question is where the heat leaves the box? This is why it is only a 8W radio? The radio is very pretty!

2:43 x6200 top left of the waterfall shows it's only putting out 5w when it's set to 8w, and 2.5w when it's set to 4w. And it's using more amps than the x6100 set to 10w and putting out 11w (top right of waterfall). Huh.

Don't know, I've never run a shielded cable on my x6100. What problem were you chasing?
@michaelgassman880
@michaelgassman880 5 ай бұрын
@@temporarilyoffline Would have RF leaking into transmit audio if the antenna was too close (e.g. an AX1 on side of the radio). Using a shielded CAT7 or 8 cable in place of the microphone cable that comes with the X6100 would solve the problem. I thought that in your video the new cable looked like it might be better shielded.
