A basic description of how does the MRI work, no quantum physics, no rocket science. this is for anybody

Finally a video that isn`t too deep but helps you understand the main concept. I thought the analogy with car was good. Don`t listen to all those narrow minded people commenting. The video was awesome. Finally understood what all those coils are for. I liked how you made this video step by step by getting into deeper physics. I really don`t get why people commenting here are so hateful, they must be stressing out because of school work and leaving their anger here in YT.

I understand you want to make it less complicated, but it's not quite simplified this way. Don't try to mix up MRI and BMW. They are quite different

Excellent analogy, Sir!! The best of both worlds ❤

Dear Mr. Haroun, Thanks! That was an elegant, simple explanation. Just what I need right now as a CT Tech about to go on a job interview which would involve MRI cross-training. I truly appreciate your effort!

I study physics. while trying to understand how does MRI works I had few questions like how to pinpoint location, why RF is needed, why is it called resonant... this video answered all those questions. thanks. seems like most people got stuck at "fist"

I guess anybody can make an electromagnet with an AA battery,a nail and some electric wires,but the MRI machine is a masterpiece of science and technology,which took quite a few years in its development.It is much more than rocket science,in my opinion.Great video.

cyclotron angular frequency (Wc) = eB/m , where B is the magnetic field strength ,mass of proton (m) = 1.67*10^-27 and charge( e) = 1.6*10^-19, when divided they give 95 *10^6 and then divide by 2*pi to get the frequency which gives 15.24*10^6 which is not 42*10^6 as stated in the video. Regards

"The inside is very simple. Using big magnet to get an image." Yet the device costs nearly a million.
@mrwideboy8 жыл бұрын
Its because the there is 20Km Niobium-Titanium superconducting wire and at $2 per meter. Its also takes 2 - 3000L of liquid helium to cool them down which is about $14 per litre, then magnet has to be made from highly non magnetic steel, it also uses 5Kw Radio amplifiers, and gradient amplifiers which generate 500Amps in 100uS. all of which are expensive. Its not simple not cheap to get quality images

De-gas the unit and it's big dollars, that's why the machines are left on. Turn it off and bye bye gas. We were warned by our lecturer at uni about making that mistake.

My dad had an MRI and he has a bad back so he asked for a pillow under it and the tech said it would ruin the image? Is that true? Because my dad is 91 and the doctor told him to ask for a pillow
@YvenelC9 жыл бұрын
1mustangsally the further his back was away from the coil (the receptor that he was laying on) the grainier the image comes out....for the best images the part has to be right against the coil, the pillow would added to much distance between his back and the coil
@1mustangsally9 жыл бұрын
Yvenel Cheriscar Thank you for explaining.
@JohnSmith-qb5bl8 жыл бұрын
+1mustangsally I'm not expert, but the pillow might shrink the longer he lays on it. That seems like it would change the location of his body and mess up the image.
