One of the best parts of COVID-19 is that people started to bring back the much needed personal space role. Also telecommuting has become big which is really nice 👍 for companies who believe squeezing people together like pack rats 🐀 is a good idea because it clearly spreads bad ideas 💡 and diseases.

Open office design is the worst. Now someone having a conversation about his trip to North Dakota can prevent a whole room of people from focusing on work.

Millennial here. Never heard anyone outside of management roles, millennial or otherwise, gush over an open office plan. If anything, only have heard disdain.

One is h1b visa manipulation, and threats of being booted from the country. Please cover the huge topic of h1b visa loopholes in the tech industry (well reported and documented since 2009), to hire h1b visa indian immigrants at a lower pay grade than US tech graduates.

I strongly believe in personal space! If you don’t have 6 feet 🦶 of space you basically don’t have personal space. With open space you got zero privacy especially from sound when you got a noisy coworker.

At one of my previous employers, city centre office building, we had about 6 people in the space of a cubicle. I hated it, didn't stay there long.

Bro, not sure if you found his channel, but I would love to see you colab with Joshua Fluke. Maybe a podcast or something one time, it would be epic ranting for all techies ha

Eli: A home cost $200,000? What. I am in Downey California which we are known for carpanter’s band and Rockwell which we built the space shuttle. I love it, but sometimes I enjoy the cold weather and rain and snow and living out in the country side like Shepardvill Kentucky which as a gun owner , i get harassed by local police. My white neighbors shot there guns off and they never get in trouble as have swat or national gaud come out. I was thinking. I need to hang out with my white neighbors and shot guns all day. Yea, that the ticket. Thanks again eli the computer guy... Keep it real.. American Cholo podcast. 🇲🇽🇯🇵🇺🇸🏄🏽♂️🌊🌊

Hey Eli, I have to admit I appreciate you telling it like it is but my gosh sometimes it's depresing listening to the reality. Are there tech CEO's with beer taps who are good people? My question is you talk about not needing to move to Silicon Valley or Austin but don't you think there is a value in being where the tech "energy" is? There is a scene that creates creativity. If you're in the oil industry wouldn't you want to be in Texas? In the financial industry in New York?

I ended a degree in Psychology when I saw how deeply intrenched the industry had become inside big tech and the financial sector.
