Always wondered about this myself. Currently onto a BFM kick and I remember how some of my classmates back then only got the game just so they could get the FF8 Demo. Same as how people bought Zone of the Enders just for the MGS2 demo

I still love Brave Fencer Musashi, played it about a year after FF8 released. Played the FF8 demo on the Pizza Hut demo disc and was hooked from there.

I cringe every time you mispronounce SeeD. Also does anyone know the name of the song that plays in the demo during the opening cutscene? I always loved that song and was sad they changed it in the final game.

It doesn't make sense to pronounce it as "seed" since the D is capitalized. I know it's the way everyone else pronounces it, and it matches up with the military schools being called Gardens, but I can't get past the capital D.

@@Level1Sword The game never implies that it’s an acronym for anything, so there’s no point in trying to guess what it stands for. Most likely it’s not an acronym and they’re just called seeds because they’re the children of Garden. Why the D is capitalized no one will ever know. My guess is because the game was released at a time when everything was trying to be edgy, hence the gothic style of the game and Squall as a protagonist. It was the end of the 90s when people were still throwing a Z on the end of every word to make it sound cooler to kids. Or should I say kidz. Also since when has capitalization ever affected pronunciation? Not sure where you even got that from.

@@TheDreadedZero The track is either "Attack on Dollet" or "Attacking Dollet". As for the SeeD pronunciation thing had a few final points to bring up: 1. Capitonyms can affect the way a word is pronounced depending on capitalization. 2. Even if the D is not identified as an acronym, that doesn't mean it isn't one. 3. SeeD is a brand, and brand names (or more generally, proper names) don't have to follow grammer or pronunciation rules. I'm curious as to how you pronounce Xbox 😁 I am aware that World of Final Fantasy actually does pronounce it as just "seed", but Square Enix has mishandled pronunciations before. Tidus is pronounced "Teedus" only because some announcer pronounced it like that and it stuck when they were translating FFX. Finally, if it is pronounced "seed" that's problematic when Ultimecia repeats "SeeD! SeeD!" several times in a row. Just gonna leave it at that.

@@Level1Sword wait why is it problematic when Ultimecia says it over and over..?
