Please be aware that running larger tires in theory can cause your ESC or motor to run hot and eventually break. I haven't personally had this issue with any of the cars and do not know anyone who has had a problem, but please keep an eye on the temperatures. If it does run hot then do not use the tires! 😉

I found some that are 110mm diameter that I might try, to gain ground clearance. I know you lose top speed with bigger tires but this thing has plenty of speed to give up a few mph for more clearance.
@Dalehogg89
@Dalehogg89 2 жыл бұрын
Bigger wheels will gain top speed if there is enough power to push them. Smaller will gain acceleration. This is just down to the way the gearing works by the time wheel diameter is taken into account. Same reason a real car's speedometer will read under if you put huge rims and tires on it.

@JohnRobinsonRC
@JohnRobinsonRC 3 жыл бұрын
Yes that doesn't sound right at all. When the wheels are attached and the nuts on is there much movement when you pull the wheel outwards? Like trying to pull it off the car? There should be as little as possible. Also maybe increase the ride height a little. I have a video showing how to use 4 screws to make the car into tarmac spec but you can use the same trick by using the same 4 screws to stop the suspension dropping down so much and stop the extra stress on the joints. Try it and see if it helps? Good luck. 😊
@brandon6984
@brandon6984 3 жыл бұрын
@@JohnRobinsonRC There is not much play at all in the front wheels. I make sure the nuts and screws are tight. The ride height is actually already as high as possible. I used the shock mounting holes on the arms closest to centre. Im thinking maybe that is the issue and there is too much droop causing the dogbones and CVDs to be angled too much especially when its in the air. Before landing/rolling the cvds and dogbones get crunched on that angle. Will try changing the droop settings. Thanks for your help.

@JohnRobinsonRC
@JohnRobinsonRC 3 жыл бұрын
Hiya Francisco and sorry to hear that. I personally drove for 2 batteries length of time without issue which is strange. 🤔 I know you can change the pinion gear to help but surely it should be geared downwards or to a smaller gear so that can compensate for the larger wheel diameter? However I haven't tested it myself and would need to look into it more. I know for sure changing the pinion makes a big difference. What's the temperature in your country when it overheated may I ask?

Hi, great video…👍 And 👍👍👍 for running this buggy in off-road…and not only for speed on the street again and again…😎🤣😂😊🙏😉🧐 As a classic 4WD buggy platform the 124s are naturally (also…) made for off road conditions, and it is doing very well on surface you are running it on…and the 1:10th scale buggy tires seem to be very good for performance doing so… Transforming the vehicle due to their bigger size somehow into some sort of Truggy style… This option will give us soooooo… many possibilities tire wise… cool…! And I also agree to what you say about the bouncing rear-end…just running it the way it comes out of the box before wildly making adjustments… I mean, if you would "seriously" 😉🧐 want to race competition on exactly this surface, yes, then you could easily work on the shocks and suspension to optimize performance. A model like the given one hast all needed adjustment options to do so,…and working on a model in this way is one part of our wonderful hobby …. "one", but not the "only one"… You were obviously just out there to have FUN 👍🍀😎 driving and you wanted to see how the bigger tires work out… so there was absolutely no reason for you to work intensively on the setup… Keep on having a good RC FUN time…!!! 🍀 Thorsten 🌞

Hiya Thorsten and thanks for the comment. Yes I agree with you that the 124019 is more based towards tarmac. Its very good all round but for sure the speed runners like it for a reason. Without doubt there is a lot of adjustments that people can make. For me I need to check it and leave it standard so that the video appeals to everyone. The rear end does need a little work though if people wanted, however I kinda like the fun of it! 😉 To be honest, I am just impressed with the 144001, 124018 and 124019 considering their price point. WLToys have done well to cater for the needs of many with the basic platform. Interesting to see what WLToys will come up with next. 😉 Have a great day today. Kind regards, John. 👍

OK, nowadays most popular off-road racing on carpet and/or AstroTurf makes it easier for this wonderful WLtoys 4WD buggy in its smaller scale, but nevertheless it looks great on the track… And now you impressively showed that it can be quite capable on "real" off road surfaces, also… Keep on having a good RC FUN time…!!! 🍀 Thorsten 🌞
