My family in North Carolina (mostly when speaking to children) called them "Stick-a-briars" like "sticky burrs" with a southern twang to it. That's definitely the word Rhett was looking for. 😅

My mom and I got mooned in march- as our cruise ship was leaving New Orleans- many people were waving and yelling goodbye. Then we saw about 10 guys mooning us! Lol

I was a teen in the 70's. Driving with friends up and down the main street in town, along with other car's filled with teens. Every where on the street, we would see butt's here, butt's there, butt's everywhere. THEN came the streaker's, running naked thru a crowd. There was a hit song about streaking. I've never mooned anyone, that I can remember.

It's creme caramel. That's the basic kind you get at the store. Unless they're rebranded as flan elsewhere, since they're practically the same thing. Creme brulee has the hard burnt sugar on top, while a creme caramel has the caramel sauce which is basically just melted sugar.

I would either call those prickly things "beggar's lice" or "sand spurs" depending on the kind of seed. Beggar's lice are more like velcro where sand spurs are more pokey.

I think I have a decent vocabulary and pride myself on knowing lots of random words like aglet, petrichor, wamble and nurdle but the word "bollard" was entirely new to me And somehow seemed totally normal parlance for them. What life experience did I miss for this to not be something I'm aware of lol? I guess I would have just called them pylons but that's not exactly right. Lol Nicely done Rhett and Link.

Growing up we called them Sticker burrs/ Sandburs, Grassburs, Sticker Burrs/Burr Stickers, Pricking Monsters, Lawn/Grass Stickers. In dry states like Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona, you have probably had to deal with prickly stickers in your lawn from time to time.
