This segment is not for children
@jennifere.98155 күн бұрын
No kidding it's not for children. But those children asked those questions in good faith. Is Colbert writing back to all the kids who asked the questions and are curious and eagerly waiting for the answer? He should be doing that behind the scenes -- or his staff should be, looking up all those answers. Please tell me that he's doing that -- and that parents are not caving to temptation and playing the video back for their kids if their questions get picked. That would be an invitation for the children to feel like they said something stupid and that the people are laughing at them.(Even though they just asked questions they genuinely wanted to know, misled that they would be answered by Colbert [maybe some parents were also a bit misled? But I'm afraid there are plenty of parents who just think about how their kids'll get on a big show. It plays off of parents' desire to put their kids all over the internet and show them being cute.] ) I mean, just think for a second about what's going on here. Or ask child psychologists if you can't.

I still think this segment is awful. First: The Answers are never funny. Second: Sensible people are debating whether it should be legal at all to put a foto of your child on social media even though they are too young to consent. And yet here we are, putting them on national tv to cater to parents who want their five minutes of fame. Let's face it: None of thise kids actually came up with those questions themselves. It's always the parents.
