Due to evaporation effect by H2 there is no need . Since evaporation causes cooling.

We do throttling in order to bring down the refrigerant temperature in order to produce refrigeration effect. Here our purpose is solved by evaporation which causes cooling effect.

Pressure is same everywhere in the system so no expansion valve is required for reducing pressure

In this system Hydrogen reduces the partial pressure of ammonia and thus provides the evaporation and cooling. Here, the H2 serves the function of the expansion valve. Water in the absorber turns the ammonia vapor into liquid. Here, water is acting like the compressor and condenser in a traditional AC unit.

Very simple in theory but tedious and practically difficult without a liquid pump to move different solvents at different pressure in the cycle known as vapour absorption system..
