This makes me appreciate the shoes waaaaayyyy more. It also makes me agree with their price of these. I honestly thought they were a bit too expensive but now that I’m understanding just how much goes into one pair of these and the amount of care and love used to make sure they’re up to standard has me counting and savin all me munny!!! Thanks everyone at the doc factory for the wonderful shoes and all your hard work! Us shoe lovers appreciate you all so so much!!!

paul watson that’s so awesome!!! I remember first seeing these shoes when I was 19! My friend had some of these and let me wear them for a week and I fell in love immediately! These shoes always had me in “bad ass” mode lol! But I never bought any! Like I said before I just didn’t have the money and thought it was so pricy. I’m 25 now and am honestly glad I didn’t buy any before because I don’t think I would’ve appreciated them as much as I would now after seeing this. I live in America and just knowing that you guys give tours and keep it so tight knit in your factory family gives a nice and fresh experience for your all of your customers. You guys all must work so hard too! Insider did an amazing job at showing the thorough steps taken in making these and also showing the speed and focus that you’re all required to meet! It seems like a very down to earth company but I think having down to earth employees is really rare nowadays just because we live in such a fast pace type of era and seeing so much passion in a brand is always inspiring. And I think there should be some recognition of all that hard work even if you do have good pay and benefits with your work. You guys go the distance! I’m super proud of all you hard workers at the doc factory as well as the dedicated workers at Insider! You all are very much appreciated by the public and I genuinely wish you a fantastic rest of the year! Thank you so much for responding back to my comment too! You and everyone who agree with my comments all made my day! Much love to you all!!!🤗💕

I mean that may be hard core to you but I imagined this whole video more to be in the tone of: "First a new Dr.Martens egg is formed by one of the 6 laying sisters of the lesbicus each identified by her own mix of 3/4 jeans, t-shirt and tie. Than 2 brave workers take the eggs one by one and carry it to the succubus pen, where it is implanted and will incubate for the next 12-16 weeks. During this phase the carrying succubi must be fed according to their liking. To protect the workers from the fire spat during the feedings a thick layer of protective kevlar-glass wool gear is worn. When their time has come a new pair of lesbian shoes is born. Always in pairs, one the exact mirror image of the other. Their color is solely dependent on the nutrition of the mother and the temperature of the succubui's uterus during the incubation phase. After separation from their surrogate mother the new pair is carefully packaged and shipped to one of 94 locations worldwide.

With machines and underpaid workers likely. But had Dr Martens started out with hand sewing their boots I'm sure somebody would've frowned at a switch to sewing machines. Truth be told the Asian boot is a better looking product, the stitches are much more uniform precisely because they were made by a machine. The only real difference is the quality of the leather, which is tougher(and therefore harder to break in) but even so, if you take care of the mass produced shoe it will last. If you buy the Chinese shoe you're not getting a shit product.

@jaykan10026 жыл бұрын
@@solomonkane5240 "Year" is not really that good of a unit to measure a boot's "durability" without some kind of standard frequency of wear. I can buy a pair today and throw them in my closet for 10 years, they'll come out new and I can say I have had it for 10 years. On the other hand, some people will wear the same boot everyday (which you shouldn't) and have it fall apart within months. Most people only wear their boots in the fall/spring and winter, so 3-5 years really isn't that long. There have also been plenty of people that have cracked leather in the toe box area where it bents. Given the same use, real leather boots can last you 3-4 times if not longer than that (Leather items that are regularly treated can easily last DECADES). I'd imagine same is true for the MIE and Solovair. Excluding the sole which is resole-able of course. Speaking of sole, Chinese Marten soles are widely documented to wear much faster than MIE. So if you haven't resoled it once in 3 years, that tells me you really didn't wear it that frequently or at least not as frequently as you think. Note the word "frequently" can be subjective, I am speaking objectively when compared to other boots as well as known information on Dr. Marten boot's sole wear pattern. I can care less what you think (just being honest, nothing personal). All the information I referenced to are out there on the internet, you can easily find them and cross-reference multiple sources for credibility. Cheers

@@jaykan1002 I can tell you're very passionate about this, and I'm sure having docs that are made in England make you feel better about your purchase. But I know so many friends of mine who have docs made in china or Thailand that have lasted 3+ years and that's with wearing almost everyday of the year. Also no damage other than maybe scuffing or personal damage. I can totally understand why a lot of English pair owners would look down on those who own Asian ones and still like them, but that shouldn't mean you have to go off on someone who happens to own an Asian pair that's done them well.
@jaykan10026 жыл бұрын
@@redwarrior2342 I can care less because I personally wouldn't buy another pair of Dr. Marten. I prefer Solovair over Dr. Marten because quality aside, they don't try to pretend to be what they're not, and they're not worn by every hipster in the city. It's a good conversation starter as well. If I had to go with Dr. Marten, I would take MIE, and that's what I would recommend others too. I strongly encourage you to visit a Dr. Marten store and take a look at an MIE vs basic model. The quality difference is significant. I also did not mean to put people who've brought China Dr. down. In fact, I defended Dr. Marten in other comments because without China production, they would've gone out of business. I just think people need to understand there's a difference in quality, and the majority of the Dr wasn't built the way this video was shown. Personally, I find it hard to believe your friends have Dr. Martens for 3+ years and did not encounter some form of problems, especially quick sole wear (notorious on China models). Either way, even if your friends basic Dr did last 3 years, it doesn't change the fact that MIE would outlast the basic Dr. Martens. That's both relatively speaking and absolute, you simply get a much better quality boot. That said, not everyone's knowledge of boots and standards are equal, and what's acceptable to one may not be to others. Also, if people fall in love with boots because they got to experience it in a relatively inexpensive way, then so be it. Cheers

Only few doc martens are made in the UK anymore, 90% of the boots are out sourced trash, if you want real original doc martens the made in England collection is good, but solovair is the original doc martens, they’re still all made in England and a lot better quality

When I was a student (20 years ago) I used to wear them. That or Clark’s wallabies. Both were made in England and affordable. Doc Marten’s moved production to China but was still selling them at the same price (I stopped buying them at this point of time, and they lost a great deal of their loyal customers too). Now they brought part of the production to England... but at a serious premium. How greed has destroyed an icon...

I have had two pair of Dr. Martens, two different kinds. I bought the classic one (black boots) six years ago and, even if I have worn them a lot, they're still great and solid, which is good. Anyway I have to say that the majority of Dr. Martens' shoes are actually produced in China, something that isn't mantioned in this video. This lack of information produces a lack of knowledge in the viewer (who will legitly think that, buying Dr Martens, he buys a product from a great brand that respects worker and contributes to the economy of his country etc etc) and doesn't respect all the workers that really produce these shoes. I have seen a lot of positive comments in the comment section about this brand which I, at least in part (for its quality), appreciate, but I think is important that all of you think about the dark side of fast fashion. I'm sorry if I've made some mistakes but english is not my native language. Bye!
@Bot1011015 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, even the Made in England line does not offer the original level of quality. The original production was together with Solovair, indeed the boots label said "Dr Martens made by Solovair". Solovair makes their own boots in Wollaston now, in the same way they made Doc Martens from the 60:s to the 90:s. These are the true heirs to the original Doc Martens and of much better quality than anything Doc Martens produces today.
