My family and I used to watch this in the late 1960's and early 1970's on our small 20"( I think) Black & White TV. 0f course color didn't matter because I was taped in B&W. Great family times when both mom, dad and 4 brothers and a sister were alive to watch it. I was the baby so I have lost a lot. However that was 1 show that was entertaining to watch. Jackie Gleason and Dean Martin had something in common: a photographic memory. Gleason’s memory was so good that he not only memorized his own lines, but those of his cast mates. Both could read their scripts once then had the lines committed to memory.
@ilsaramos3792 жыл бұрын
He never liked to rehearse. They showed him cue cards. When he repeats his lines, or staggers, that's when he forgot his lines. Repeated lines gave the crew time to write the lines, show him, then he would say it. Sometimes he'd make them up.

I love the Honeymooners! In the 60's my grandmother & her daughter Daisy bought a house in Peekskill. My uncle Raul Sr. retiring from the military, he and his family went to live with them. A neighbor came, introduced himself. They became friends. I was about 9. Pete invited Raul Sr. to go with him to visit a friend, have a few beers, that he would like him. Raul Sr. went. Approaching the house, Raul Sr. asked Pete where was he taking him? Pete stated he wanted him to meet his friend, that he'll love his personality who has a sense of humor. Arriving to the house, Raul Sr. found the house to look like a flying saucer. When the man opened the door, it was Jackie Gleason! Raul Sr. called his wife to tell her he was having a few beers with Jackie Gleason & Pete. So, he'd be coming back late. Raul's wife swore he was clowning around & drunk. When she told to my aunt Daisy, Daisy felt it was a possibility because Jackie had a house near by. Raul Sr. returned later & described the house, how friendly & nice Jackie was. How they got along. How the house was big. My mother had told me yrs. later while working in Flower 5th Avenue Hospital her boss gave her papers of a deceased patient. A relative was coming for his belongings, to take him to the room and have him sign papers. When the man came, she was surprised, it was Art Carney. His brother had passed away. Yrs. later when l was working in the hospital l checked the file because Mom & Raul Sr. had a tendency of making up stories. When l checked the files l saw it was true. Art Carney did loose his brother. After Jackie passed l took Mom to the tribute. She told me not to ask Art Carney to do the Huckle Buck because he had told her he had issue with his hip. Months passed & l read Art was wounded in the war & a bomb exploded near him. He became deaf in one ear and a part of the shell from the explosion got too near to his spine. Doctors were only able to remove so much, to prevent him from becoming paralyzed. Someone asked him to demonstrate at jackie's tribute, how do you play golf? Art demonstrated right to the script. Everyone got a kick out of it! Just before Audrey Meadows passed, l met her at Sam Goodies. I went with a Honeymooners Tee Shirt l had bought at Jackie's tribute. Mom had bought me a Raccoon Hat! Women were thanking Audrey for sticking up for women! When l approached Audrey, she looked up, saw what l had on, plus the hat. She said, " What the?" I interrupted her and said, "hey we woman were bound to get into those Racoons!"She laughed! She autographed a photo l have of the four of them in the kitchen. I scolded her when l saw a cigarette lit.She said, "Ah! Don't worry about it." I answered, Forgive me but, we don't t want to loose you too! Plus l love you playing the Mother in Law on Two Close For Comfort, a typical Mother n law!" Then I gave her a kiss on the cheek. As l was leaving l called out to her, Miss Meadows, Miss Meadows!" She looked up over her glasses said, "yes!" As l was leaving, l said, "Pins and Needles, Needles and Pins, A Happy Woman ls A Woman who Grins!" I then waved the Racoons tale and said, "Woo, Woo! She laughed!! Finally, l wrote to Joyce Randolph and she wrote back. I sent her a copy of the photo l took of Audrey and me, so she'd have an idea who wrote to her. I have it on my wall. It's also on facebook. The photo came out nice. I asked a man behind me if he could take the photo twice, in case the first one doesn't come out right. Thank God l did. I have a copy on my wall. It looks beautiful. Audrey looks gorgeous! God Bless her!

I forgot to mention a bus driver gave me the bus driver hat they made in jackie's memory. It has an emblim that says "Jackie Gleason Depot. I also have a shirt of the Honeymooners one which l wore when l met Audrey, another with Norton wearing his hat. People smile when l wear it. Some laugh. My mother gave it to me. Then l have another with all of them on, it's a black shirt. Then one in white with the golf scene.

Inform the audience of that lost episode where Ralph feels he continues to see Norton everywhere he goes How he can't get rid of him. That Ralph goes to see a psychiatrist. I don't know the title right now. Many they may give it now with the holidays coming.

The HoneyMooners were great. Didn't realize I watched it with my parents as a toddler, in the early sixties, and as adolescent on reruns in late sixties. Always loved Ralph's line to Alice. " One of These Day's Alice Pow Right in the Kisser ". Thanks Verse's Facts, for the memories. 🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦👍👍👍🙌🙌🙏🙏
