hey mate, we were hesitant about the cost/value for money, however, after two broken ALKO ones and a seized one we took the plunge and haven't looked back, they are well worth the initial cost in our opinion, love them. Peace

Thank you, much appreciated. We know these are not 'cheap' but after two failures on the basic ALKO it was time to change, and BOS370 have been 100% faultless. They say something like "bye once, cry once" and this applies to BOS370, you get what you pay for = quality. Peace.

Hey i noticed you said you swing your legs up and to the front. I always swing my legs up and to the back. I have seen these drop down and jackknife a van.

Hi Colin, thanks for your feedback and I can understand what you mean. I go forward because of ground clearance, especially departure angle from the rear. So, when I think about it the front would be best to swing backwards for front ground clearance ... something to ponder as we crack open a forthy at our next camp. peace :-)

Do you use these to level your van side to side when at camp? I'm guessing there should always be 8 points of contact.. 4 tyres + 4 stabilisers? (9 if including jockey wheel?)

Hi, great question: Sometimes Yes we do use to level, but only if leg is in the vertical position. If the gap between van and ground is too short, and the leg is at an angle ,we do not use it for levelling. Also, we never 'lift' the entire van off the ground using the legs, the tyre are still in ground contact. I hope that helps - peace

How does this work in relation to the caravan chassis and the possibility of the chassis being damaged when raising/twisting?
@seagullsontherun
@seagullsontherun Жыл бұрын
Hi, good question and one that would need to be directed to BOS I feel, and possibly the caravan manufacturer . There is nothing on BOS videos that would suggest chassis issues, and I currently have our caravan ‘levelled’ using the BOS legs and it all appears ‘OK’ … but is there potential for chassis ‘twisting’ ??? I don’t know !!!

Watched a couple of your videos as I’m looking at getting the exact same caravan. Did you ever upgrade install a new sine wave inverter?
@seagullsontherun

HI Geoff, thanks for your views, appreciated. We installed a 2000w ItechWorld inverter , which has x3 GPO outlets (I don't believe they make them anymore). From these three outlets we ran 3 extension leads and finished them off at standard household GPO sockets (either side of bad and one in the kitchen), so they actually look like 'active' GPO's but are not, they are only active when the inverter is switched on. I also labelled the GPO's "inverter" so it is obvious what they are. Peace, The Seagulls

Also Geoff, we love this caravan, so much so we bought it twice ! Back in 2018 we bought our first one and loved it, unfortunately someone crashed into it a wrote it off - we didn't bother going shopping around for a different caravan, we knew this was perfect and got an exact replacement (only change was an upgraded power management system, PM300 rather than PM200). That's how we knew we had the perfect caravan.

@@seagullsontherun was just about to ask about the pm system, was it an optional upgrade or are they standards in these vans now, looks sooooo much better 😂
@seagullsontherun
@seagullsontherun 2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, our first iteration was the PM200 which I think is standard. The PM300 gives you a nice 'percentage status display' on a digital screen, whereas the PM200 is just red/yellow/green LED display - the PM300 allows you to monitor input/recharge ... if you have the cash we would suggest upgrading to PM300 as it gives you better peace of mind knowing what is actually going on with your battery and water status. Peace.

did you have trouble with the original legs because you were using an impact driver?
@seagullsontherun
@seagullsontherun Жыл бұрын
When leg No.1 failed I was originally using impact driver, I replaced the leg and moved to standard 'drill' , but since then other legs failed - we just decided to 'bite the bullet' and purchase BOS370, since then we haven't looked back - these things really are 'boss' and great for levelling caravan, no need for ramps/chocks. I hope that helps

@@seagullsontherun its 'reasonably' known that the internal roll pins in them are not designed to be 'overloaded'. I find they work well if used as intended.
@seagullsontherun

totally agree 'Places To Sea' , Alko design tolerances are limited and as long as you stay within them all should be ok. One thing the BOS370 allow is to level the caravan on uneven ground (which is nearly all the time if free/bush camping) because they can take the load of the caravan, a MASSIVE bonus over stock Alko's. Peace guys.
