Good day. Some of those bikes are timing chain and some pushrod. I had a pushrod version.

Do u need to change a oil filter?
@secondhandbikers Жыл бұрын
Just wanted to ask if anyone knows if these engines have oil filters? If so, maybe the filter should be changed too after some kilometers.. just a question, no offence cos I really dont know anything about off road bikes and their engine layouts..

Hi. No i all the time the dealership did the services they never said anything about an oil filter so i don't think it does otherwise it should've been visible

Hi, how do ensure the chain is in good condition
@mototracksofficial Жыл бұрын
Hello. The chain must move side to side alot. Check for the links in between weather they are worn. Normally when sprockets are worn it's time for a new set. Always replace the whole set. Sprockets+ chain

Can i through 10W40 thinkness oil into the engine?
@TECHNOmancer_GM2 жыл бұрын
I need to know this as well, I've just put 10w40 in and I'm stressed it's too thin, did you get an answer anywhere?
@mototracksofficial2 жыл бұрын
Hi sorry i completely missed your comment. You'll have to check your owners manual. If it suggests a different and higher viscosity then you should rather stick to it.

@@TECHNOmancer_GM what was the proper viscosity? I'm asking because I know some of the bigger bikes use 10w40.. the off road/dirt bikes (which are a different category for me being used to donosaurs) may take a different oil but I remember all my older bikes using 10w40, hence I ask..

Hi Joseph. You can contact SA MOTORCYCLES via email @ info@jonway.co.za or by phone @ 011 794 6399. They would be able to assist in that regard.

Yes. You have to take the side panels off then remove two bolds which holds the seat in place.

Sorry what gets done on the first service
@mototracksofficial3 жыл бұрын
I'm not entirely sure for i haven't been there for it's first service. But i think they're only draining the oil.
@insanity74983 жыл бұрын
The first service you want to remove the spark plugs and check build up, check the in line fuel filter, go over all fasteners and lock locktite loose ones as it's generally a good indicator for which of the fasteners will come loose or fall off in future, check that the brake pads are wearing evenly and not causing any gouges or deep lines in the brake disk, check chain tension and lube chain, check brake lines have good brake fluid reserve and depending on how hard you are on your brakes you might need to bleed them. Basically the first service is probably the most important service that bike will have because if something is wrong from factory the first place you will see it is with a full inspection and complete run-through of that bike if you miss something in that first service and didn't report it or you havent taken it to a dealer then the company can turn around and void your warranty it's very important to be as careful and thorough as you can be. Personally I would just suggest even if it's the only service you pay for it's worth it to send it to a good shop for the first service.
@insanity74983 жыл бұрын
I would suggest Craig's it's who I use and they are great people with awesome quality work they will check through that bike every service and very affordable sometimes as low as R250 if everything is in good shape they will also do it while you wait if you don't want to have to leave your bike somewhere.
@mototracksofficial3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I didn't know about the spark plug cause when i got it back it had the same plug in with which i bought it.

Hi. I own a TSR 250 but have sparingly used it. I mostly commuted to work a few times and watching your videos, I would cherish the opportunity to do some off roading as well. I do not know much about bikes and the Chinese manual does not help as well (Bad translation). Honestly, everytime I ride my bike, I kinda expect a machanical failure since there is a perception that Chinese imports have a "short life", then you throw it away! Please advise? Have you got any pointers on how to optimally uatlise my bike?
@mototracksofficial3 жыл бұрын
Hi David. Thanks for the question. First of all I also was riding with the same impressions and was a little bit afraid of the bike breaking all the time or things just vibrating lose whenever I do some high speeds however since I started riding with people and started doing longer extended riding myself I realised that you just got to keep your thumb on the bike and don't really ride it too hard because most people I see riding these bikes really hard and therefor they don't last. Most of these bikes that's been ridden very hard don't last because they're not cutout for racing. If you're doing longer rides on the highway I would suggest that you stay on 90km/h. Riding above that you can but it's just a tickeck for something to wear down quicker. Check your bike regulary, lube your chain every second week or after 500 km. Ajust your chain tension every week if it's not correct after a week of riding. Just make sure that all the nuts and bolts on the bike are tightened and also don't ride the bike for more than an hour on speeds above 90kms non-stop. All the rides I've done, I did about 40 minutes of riding before I took a rest. Don't forget to service your bike regularly. And lastly if something breaks replace it as soon as you're able to. If you have more questions on stuff i can help with I'll gladly do that.
