You explained the whole concept so perfectly. A lot of nonartists don’t understand that when we create, our art really IS an extension of who we are. We pour so much of our heart and soul, and even our lived experiences into every brushstroke. On a totally different note, I just wanted to say your art style is excellent!

This makes me remember of that time I let my art teacher look at all of the drawings in my sketchbook and at the end he just asked 'are you okay?'. Like, I create characters and everyday I realize how connected they are to me, everyone of them has characteristics of me, and my art teacher noticed that by just watching my drawings 😭 It's like, artists understand each other. One time I showed this non-artist guy my drawings when I was feeling unwell and he didn't understand anything until I told him what the drawings were about 🙂

I tend to draw something cute and happy when I'm feeling the opposite too. It's like, I can't feel cozy and calm, so at least I draw it :') On the other hand, I prefer to make people laugh, smile or "aaawww" so I guess it's true to my nature :'D And the piece you've made is gorgeous - so are you!

Its funny im kind of the opposite! Im absolutely OBSESSED with creepy stuff, and most of the time the time if i draw something cute it somehow comes out normal or kinda scary..? Unless if its made for someone or drawing a specific character. But i guess when im choosing accessories and style my brain just goes to everything that has a creepy or dark vibe. If its not creepy they just look emo.

Not only your art convey emotions because this video did it too. I've been there, and I think I am in that stage of fear that refuses to keep going when I am drawing. You handled this topic with so much care and love. Bojack Horseman can come as a bizarre show at the beginning but is so full of powerful lessons, and I am glad you put that specific scene between Diane and Princess Caroline because it hits hard and one can see themselves in Diane's shoes. Thank you for making this video, I hope it reaches many other artists out there. Keep growing, doing what you love, and inspiring with your art.

Got pushed and pull to worlds I cannot explain. Just a fragment of imagination, but when I reflect on it, I feel... inspired. And then, things changed. When Creator and Creation becomes one, it's too late to divide them. Creation is just a projection of a Creator.

10:16 massive bursts of creativity without eating, etc. kinda feels like it describes a (short-term) fixation? Kinda is the main way I operate; either I'm not interested and not doing it, or I'm interested and emerge hours later hungry, odds are thirsty and needing to go to the bathroom too (I think these days I'm good enough to not let myself get into these phases when I _really_ ought to be sleeping soon-ish). I'm not diagnosed or anything but maybe that particular concept of inspiratuon or the muse striking or creative bursts is a dewcription of ADHD traits from before they were studied as a deviation/divergence?

how you draw is mesmerizing! so fluid and precise- love the overall message of the video, especially at a time like this for fellow artists 🫶🏻 this video made me reflect about my own art. i notice that most, if not all of my art is very happy! lots of bright colors, smiles, fun and laughter. despite this, inside i feel that i am often very sad and lonely. i have always wondered why that is. now, i recognize that this is still a reflection of a true part of myself- a piece of me i bring out through drawing silly things- perhaps it's my desire to be happy and carefree, to be the silly and childlike person my younger self never got to be 💗 thank you for this video 🌷

You just made me think about the colors of emotions and then that inspired me to make a variant of a character I already have who paints scenes based on how she feels and what’s happening to her in real life and in my imagination it looks amazing. I already crafted the story for this character in like 20 mins thanks

I’ve always drawn grim, dark and creepy drawings that are centered towards the concept of death or pain (which sounds totally emo and stupid but it’s true) and since that that’s what all my drawings are like, I’m always worried or scared to share my art with others because it’s so odd and different. I’m worried they may see me as “messed up” or weird (which I am. I have some sort of depression and it definitely shines through in my art) But I do think I’m capable of creating such expression-full art because of my feelings and experiences and that’s what shapes my art and makes it unique.
@carolemellow

@@Kittylynx101 Absolutely! You are what shapes your art, no matter what anyone thinks. 💙 I actually think that expressing those themes is really healthy and can do amazing things. It's unique to you, and even different from what people are used to seeing in the mainstream. I totally get feeling disconfort in thinking about sharing your work (and you don't have to), but I think you'd be surprised to how many people would acually resonate with it. But, no matter what you choose to do, if you love your art and it helps you express yourself (whatever way that looks like), that's such a beautiful thing by itself 💙💙

Thank you so much! 🩵 Actually, I very loosely found a few armor references on Pinterest, but most of it was from the imagination! It's very helpful to just get an idea of how the structure can be done, and then add your own flare, like how the lighting works, the different colors and figure things out as I go. I also did a few studies of the colors digitally first, which helped get the most realistic result!

Does it mean I should quit and look for something else that i would be as passionate about?

Much of the time people can’t even tell - they only project such qualities as “soulessness” after being told. AI Art IS bad art, but the issue isn’t a matter of aesthetics, it’s in the creative process, and focusing on aesthetics misses the real issues.
