Yeah the whole stem field is considered not as a big deal , while actors and other so called influencers are considered to be the most important of all jobs. Our lives would be perfectly fine without these influencers and actors and heck even without the whole entertainment industry. But life will not be able to sustain and progress without science and technology.

@@aswinzed8339 that's why i always feel engineers should also study social science. I myself an engineer but never felt i am superior. Maybe you don't need entertainment in your life but the world doesnt starts and end with you. People need entertainment that's why the entertainment industry is so big. Those actors can't do our things and same with us. Most of engineers can't act and present themself like actors. And they are more exposed to the public so it's obvious they will get more recognition.

In the future, we will likely be closer to a two tiered society. Engineers, and the laborers who can charge them out the nose for things like plumbing, electrical, general maintenance, and construction. At least for a while. It's getting more and more rare to find people who even know how to CHECK the wear and tear on a car, let alone actually fix anything on it.

Elon seems so different from the rest of that list. He's the only one who makes tangible products - actual machines that move and do stuff. And most people, if lucky enough, hit the jackpot just once (and stay with that venture for their entire careers). People don't usually have an even more successful Chapter 2, let alone a Chapter 3. But after PayPal, Elon immediately started two new companies, in completely unrelated industries, each of which are absolutely transforming not just their own industries but arguably the world. And his vision for those companies involve helping to save our current civilization today, and expanding our civilization to the stars tomorrow. I'm not sure how favorably "world's biggest shopping cart" compares in the Legacy & Mythos department.
