All the Enron stories talk about Skilling, Lay, and Fastow. They never mention Lou Pai, who was smarter than the other three combined! Instead of focusing on his work at Enron, Lou Pai spent his time impregnating a stripper. His wife found out. They divorced. To satisfy his obligations in the divorce decree, Pai had to sell his Enron stock and give half the proceeds to his wife. When this happened, Enron stock was still near its highs and Pai knew the Company was a total sham. Despite that, the government couldn't prosecute him for insider trading, because he was required to sell his Enron stock to satisfy a court decree.

The supposed video conferencing "tech" was a total fraud.

No it wasn’t lol. It was actually a perfect description of how a broad band network works. It’s interesting that a lot of the network infrastructure was at the time owned and serviced by Worldcom…which also went down in a scandal shortly after Enron.

It's true. Here in the UK even some local councils have tried to copy how they hid huge debts in shell companies and complex accounting structures.

And Ken Griffin sent in a hiring team within hours to hire as many of those sociopaths as he could. He admits this on one of his videos you can find on youtube.

this is horsecrap they wanted to corner the broadband market...which is an absurd concept the tech they had for video conferencing and streaming was terrible, because the compression tech was 4 years away they werent going to invest in improving the tech, because they were all about effing people out of their money

Jeff Skilling may have been a fraud but he was brilliant. Glad he's back in the business world. This time around he'll do things better.
