Unscrewing will not let you screw it back on. Yeah, cut the bottom wide open and use it like a funnel to fill generic ink. It works!

Using any other ink other than epson voids the warranty on the printer, but after the years over, feel free to cut the bottom off the bottle and use them as funnels to add generic inks 👍🏻

I’ve twisted these off the bottle few times. It’s sloted but the slots can be just broken off once you do that the bottle cap opens closes normally you’re only breaking the safety taps it’s really tight might have to use a wrench but I reuse all my bottles

I enjoyed your video on the Epson ET-2750. You can simply unscrew the top then grab the collar-at-the-base, and turn it counter clockwise (lefty-loosey). Epson has a plastic tab to deter this motion, kind of like on some prescription bottles. Just grip and unscrew -- > the entire top will come off. Then use your reliable generic ink in colors Black (K), Magenta (M), Cyan (C) and Yellow (Y). If you keep the bottles that came with the printer, you can just refill them 80% and use them to refill the your printer. They will refill and stop filling per Epsons design with original ink. I now own 35 Epson ink jet printers. The intake ports on the ET-4750 that I just bought (and probably all ET models) are very similar to those on the older Epson R260, R280, Artisan 50, RX-595, 1400 and R200 and 1430 models. This means you can deep clean them or flush the heads like you did with the older models mentioned above. I have not tested the ET-4750 yet, but I can already see I like the aftermarket CISS and external waste ink tank (my own external so no buying maintenance tanks) on the older models. So re-think your approach and just refill the original bottles. If you want to rinse them out, just use distilled water (88 cents a gallon at any store). The caps do unscrew off so you can refill them. They have plastic ratchet type stop under the caps to make it difficult to unscrew the cap from the bottle. Just get manly and the caps will unscrew with enough force. When you go to Amazon the cost is really cheap if you want to buy 4-250 ml bottles of ink for $38.00 for all four colors. That would be enough for 3.5 fills for the colors and two fills for the black. Most people it isn't worth it since the ink is so cheap from the companies selling their product in Epson type bottles. Amazon is your friend when it comes to knock off ink for this printer. A compete set for a full refill all four colors is $27.00. The individual colors are $8.00 each and blacks can be had for $16 for a two pack.

When you over think it you become a slave to the trade… get a syringe and poke at the spring… carefully ofcorse. Nothings “un-refillable” they can’t mold plastic around a liquid. Refill your bottles…

Companies will find a solution. There's this plumbing technique of adding a tap to a live pressurised copper water pipe which effectively involves encasing the pipe then puncturing the copper. I bet a similar solution which creates a fill valve will be made (if it hasn't already). Either that or there is probably 3D printable plastic keys that can fit on generic bottles available online.

Where I am we had an Epson printer we used to print DVDs as we needed. Their printers themselves have an expiration date where they will quit printing. Ours reached a point where it said it was past its service life and to call an Epson repair center. The issue? The ink clean-off pad was assumed to be too dirty based on a counter. The printer itself still worked fine. The part cannot be bought by itself. It's a shame because Epson printers are quite good.

Every Epson printer has an end-of-life or EOS (end of service) built into the printercontrolled by the CMOS (computer management operating system). It usually happens at about 11,000 to 13,000 pages printed, or when the waste ink tank is thought to be full. This is designed like this due to the internal waste ink tank. Epson thinks there is liability if it overflows ergo the EOS. The waste tank can overflow, but since the ink is water based, it will evaporate first. Just an excuse to force you to buy a new printer. You can buy a reset key from "wic reset" on the internet and reset the printer like new. Cost is between $10 and $4. Just bought 25 more of these for $100, so the reset keys (which is a simple string of numbers and letters) cost me $4 each. I have an Epson R280 with 45,000 pages and 4.1 million print passes counted (FYI a print pass is when the print head goes across the page and back one time. HI I just refilled with orginal refill ink bottle for my Epson 3760 using 505 ink. I twisted the top off and refill the original bottle with extra 505 ink. it worked , fill the printer up. it did not leak. only my experience so maybe I will try to the the. compatible ink next time. hope this helps

The Epson ink is now $55 at Sams for all 4 bottles that’s $13.75/ bottle is great for over a years supply even pirated ink at 7 or 8 bucks I wouldn’t mind paying $5 more for Epson’s especially for so much ink. I love this printer I can print my own photos under .15/ page with premium photo paper and this long lasting ink and the printer now is $229 at Sams with double the black ink it’s great no more cartridges!

Yes you could use a syringe bought an any farm store such asTractor supply store and injected the new ink and seal The hole with tape or some kind or glue. I Wouldn’t injected in the bottom of the bottle that way when it sits for any period of time it wouldn’t leak all over if it wasn’t sealed good I Would inject it towards the top of the bottle.

Geez mate. You're tighter than a fishes arsehole if you're not prepared to spend an extra few dollars a bottle. I'm 3,500 pages in and on track to print over 6,000 pages with half a tank of BK left and ¾ tanks of Y,M,C. My last Canon printer was so thirsty and expensive that it's cheaper to throw it away once the ink runs out.

There're a lot of generic 102 bottles that don't have the keys but wil properly fit on the printer tanks. I doubt you fully understand the availability of generic printer ink for the ecotank printers.

Was looking for a product review, not a rant against corporate ink greed. As a point of interest, I replaced a Canon pixima I have had for several years. Ink cartridges for the Canon cost about 70 bucks to replace, held about 30% of the ink that the ink tank machine holds at about 20 bucks more than the cost of the 4 ink bottles. The Canon also constantly defaulted to using the color cartridge to print black text rather than the far less expensive on board black cartridge. I suppose it's a matter of what knots your shorts, but the Epson has so far proven to be a far cheaper, higher quality print, much more intuitive and user friendly machine and the ink is considerably less expensive, albeit, still not free.

What do you pay per mL of ink? My generic costs about 2 cents per mL. Cartridges costing $12 that hold 12 mL cost $1 per mL. Epsons ET-4750 yellow ink bottle has about 100 mL in it, so at $19.00 and Free S&L from Epson Direct, that's 19 cents per mL. Way too much for me when I'm printing 25-50 thousand pages per year. If we could team up we could buy this ink by the 5 gallon container and it cost us 1/2 cent per mL.

Generic ink from reliable sources is perfectly fine. I have printed over 200K pages with generic, buying epson non-oem ink by the 7 gallon lot bi-annually since 2009. Six colors plus one additional gallon of black runs about $399 including S&H. About 2 cents per mL with you account for waste.
