How Exclusive are the Louis Vuitton x Pharrell's Leather Speedy P9 Bags?

Got my Red P9 Speedy 40 last weekend and my zone when I ordered only had 9 left when I picked up my order it was down to 4 in my zone. Love it. Buttery soft and I use it every chance I get. It ain’t sitting on a shelf after I bought it at that price

Not numbering them leaves me to believe they might be producing more. I wish the pricing was about 1/2 the price, but I guess they have to maintain exclusivity.

I agree I think they are def producing more which I don't really like. I wish it was more of a finite amount. I think they should continue with the bag but just add new colors. And yeah half the price would be better but even starting at 6-7k would have been plenty, but 9K! 😩

They reopened orders a few weeks ago. I placed my order for the green 40 with a delivery dates of mid June 🥵

I agree with you, I wish they were numbered and we were told exactly how many were produced. But I think their greed gets in the way so they prefer to milk it and see how many they can sell.

I ordered the P9 Speedy 25 in green I went down the preorder route was different to anything else I have ordered from LV I confirmed I wanted it on 30th November and had to wait a week to find out if I would be allowed to order it 😅

Practicality and price (fitting in my budget) are the factors that drive my luxe purchases. I do like buying pieces other don’t gravitate to but wouldn’t call that exclusivity. As for LV strategy, I think it’s best for them to not release any more of those speedys in those particular colors and just do new ones with the same limited quantity… they’ll still be exclusive.

I think the prices of the bags are astronomical. A leather speedy! They already make leather speedy and it seems this release is 3 times the cost of a leather speedy. Doesn’t make sense.

Late to the party but wanted to share that each region was given anywhere from 3-10 units of each bag with even less in the 40/50 size range. I’d say 1200-1500 produced seems about right. I do know however that there is said to be a restock in the US and there’s even stock sitting in places like China

I was actually offered one, but decided to opt out due to the price, it is soft leather and vachetta...i live where it rains and dont have a car to go anywhere...so . But i also dont like that the vachetta on the p9 is even getting darker. It is already dark and kind of clash with the cooler colours like tourquise and pink.

I use mine blue 40 every chance I get when I preordered my purple 40 and told my sales associate that she was like " what do you really?" All shocked like most people aren't using them😂😂. I was like well I didn't buy it so it can sit on a shelf 💀💪🏽

I think if you want an item that is exclusive then you need to get it tailor made to what you want, i.e one of a kind. In reality no one thing is exactly made the same however alike they are or look. Just like identical twins are not the same despite looking alike

Wall St Journal 's article Luxury Hand-Me-Downs are Now Worth Billions of Dollars published yesterday Jan 12: "Handbags made by Louis Vuitton lose 40% of their value on average when they are resold, according to data from The RealReal. Christian Dior’s bags almost halve in value." Hermes was on the only brand that showed an appreciation on re-sale value. So if you are buying LV for re-sale reasons think again!

1,000 of each size sounds much more realistic because the original numbered “eye need you” “eye miss you” etc bags were numbered and around 1200-1500 of each. That said these cost a fortune I really think they werent sure how they would sell. I agree gifting can be annoying BUT in this case even tho I kept saying influencers, it really was high profile celebrities, and that I don't mind as much its more similar to what they did in the early 2000’s era etc.

Oh well I get it was celebrities but it still puts me off, I don’t know why. When any brand gift certain new bags to a lot of influencers that really puts me off & I won’t buy them.

Great topic, honestly if it was put out that they produced a limited amount, I would have wished they numbered them, that makes them more exclusive, hence the price point a bit justifiable. I have the Eye Love You in both color ways and they are numbered. People complain about the prices but there will always be someone willing to pay the price. If they had hot pink it would be a frenzy 🤣 everyone would be clambering for it! 🩷 I’d be one of them 😂
