In today's bucket list adventure, we take a train to the top of Zurich, we try some typical food available in Switzerland, we river dance our way down a mountain, and we give you a home tour of where we will be staying during our time in Zurich.

The wall fixture in the bathroom is a heater.the knob is the temperature regulator.if you look on the wall under the window sill you'll find a similar one.

The train station looked kind of dark. One of the pleasant surprises in Paria is that the subway stations are so well lit. I have taken the subway in New York and Boston and the stations there are kind of dark like that one in Zurich. Also, I think Greg should definitely audition for a riverdancer position. The kid has potential!

ATM are everywhere in Zürich, you can buy food at the Hauptbahnhof on Sunday, and the trains run on Sunday. 😂

Been to Paris, London, Madrid but Zurich has been my favorite city. And I live next to San Francisco and that's a beautiful City. Only thing is Zurich is Super expensive. I spent 10k in five days. But worth it!! Go to Lucerne such a beautiful city!

So happy you are having this adventure. Swiss are peaceful, clean and honest..Some years ago a while visiting a friend left his camera on a bench we were relaxing on while eating a snack. He didn't notice until we were 30 mins away. When we got bench to the bench there was his camera. We were shocked and impressed since this was in a central city area.

I spent 2 years in Germany in the Army and love traveling Europe. An entire world of difference between countries just a short distance away. I lived very near the borders to both France and Switzerland, and it was amazing!

Swiss milk is pretty good. The best milk I had in Europe was in the train station in Stuttgart. There was a stand and all they sold was milk, so I figured it must be good. I took a big drink and told the woman selling the milk "Wow. This is the best milk I've ever had." The woman smiled and told me "Meadows many flowers now." So when the cows are grazing on wildflowers, the milk they give is excellent.

The "towel Rack" in the bathroom is a heater, very common heaters in all of Europe. I love Zurich , if you have a chance go to Interlocken.

That's true. And you aren't supposed to put a towel there because some of the heaters might be so warm the towel can catch fire. Heater in the bathroom is for making the bathroom dry faster after you shower there. When the bathroom gets dry fast it prevents the walls and floors from groving mold.

I find your comments about walkability so interesting. It's definitely torture to return to non-walkable parts of the U.S. after being in Europe (or many parts of Mexico).

yeah--we think so too. We are just so used to walking everywhere or taking a quick bus and then are reminded of how you have to drive everywhere in the US---not our favorite part!

Unless I missed something, I don’t think that H & G said that they are tired of Mexico. As for your comment “better countries”I can tell you that based on experience, I’ve lived in Switzerland for the last 35 years, it is definitely not “better” than Mexico. It looks nice when the weather is nice, which is limited to 3 or 4 months a year at the most (terrible weather!!; today we are having 50f and raining) and the Swiss are not known for being friendly; they are not. So , I definitely don’t think that this place is better than Mexico … at all.

They never said that they're tired of Mexico. They're traveling and totally free to go or live wherever they want to. I'm from Mexico and living here in Mexico but I've lived in Germany before, and it's totally different. What sucks in Mexico are the bad administrations that have the country in poverty, violence, despite that México is beautiful but it's harder to live here than in any European country. We can't even compare!

Switzerland and Germany and such are quiet and rule oriented (jaywalking you mentioned) Germanic countries aren’t chaotic in the way that Mexico and Southern Europe are. Wiener schnitzel is a veal or pork cutlet topped with a sauce, very typical German cuisine, and was a huge favorite of mine. There are many types of schnitzel, (Wiener, Rahm, Panniert). Wiener is Vienna (actually Wien).
