I really think that most towers here were done dirty and deserve a redo, First, the towers should be leveled up to their best value level and spammed until max placement limit before maxing them out, and only get hidden detection if its needed for the hidden waves. For example Scout and golden scout have the most value at level 0, so they should have been spammed until max placement limit while upgrading some of them to lvl 3 for hidden detection only on the hidden waves, then after you reach the placement limit, only then you max them out. Ace pilot got reworked and he really deserves a redo, For soldier, the same can be said as scouts, spam lvl0 soldiers then upgrade some to lvl2 for hiddens, then reach placement limit etc. etc. Now idk all the best values for all the towers but i recommend you research them or smth. Secondly, all ground towers should be used in a control map, all on crossroads for example. Then the cliff towers on another map or smth

I honestly just HATE how difficult the early-mid game is. WHAT WERE THEY COOKING WHEN THEY REWORKED INTERMEDIATE MODE? The early-mid game feels like it came STRAIGHT OUTTA HARDCORE. And you're ACTIVELY PUNISHED for even thinking about using farm, it's that bad. I tried using 2 tower combos that both had farm, DJ, & commander. The combos were g scout & military base, and g soldier & accelerator. Both of them failed. And keep in mind, I've SEEN that people have straight-up beat intermediate mode, WITH ONLY MILITANT & MILITARY BASE. So HOW, is adding MORE AND BETTER towers to your strategy, WORSE?!?

In my opinion, Intermediate has the most unique zombie types and theme. I believe it's one of the only gamemodes where zombies can heal (excluding resurrection from abomination), if not, then one of the very few. (Edit: Nvm, the health cultist can heal too lol)

Because i did do solo with merc base only when i was bored, it took patience but it worked, the map was wrecked battlefield, and if you skip the waves fast enough, you have enough for mercenary base as early. With riot ability spam(also some demomans) it works

You can actually set targeting to last when an enemy is low health, about to be taken out by base of towers but turns into a high health slime. With this I managed to get a bit further. I don't have some towers but this might help you! So basically skill issue that didn't hurt you too much, just one or two waves.
