How far can I send my FPV long range quad? I have found a limit

I’ve gained valuable insights from other FPV long-range videos, particularly from the overlaid telemetry data visible in the goggle view during flight. Naturally, I wanted to incorporate this feature into my own footage.
The time had come to put my gear to the test. I started with a trial battery, flying out about 5 kilometers before turning back. Then, I pushed the limits.
From this flight, I learned several important lessons:
- Fly Slower: I realized I was going too fast-around 60 km/h on the ascent and 80-100 km/h on the descent. Slowing down allows for better energy management.
- Plan Reserves: Having extra reserve power at the top is convenient. It prevents the need for an immediate turnaround due to fear of not making it back or losing my quadcopter.
- Successful Return: Despite the challenges, I made it back. The battery survived, recovering after landing with a voltage of 2.52V.

Thx a lot. I was also surprised how good these perform. Normally, i changed to the maple... but with these, you have to point bether vs the drone, and this is not so easy 😉

Dude, Crocodile5's range is seriously impressive! You nailed it when you said it's super important to ease off the throttle when you get to your spot. And hey, the best part about flying in the mountains on the way back is that you're practically coasting, hardly using any juice. Long-range drones are like a never-ending learning curve, right? Ich war selber überrascht das ich mich das getraut habe. Ich wollte aber endlich auch mal schauen, was das material hergiebt, und ob es z. B für einen der höheren und ikonischen berge wie eiger, mattherorn oder auch mont blanc reichen würde.

Puhh, das war ja wirklich knapp! Knapper als bei mir😅 Wo bist du gestanden zum Fliegen? Dort auf der Lichtung/Wiese wo man am Ende sieht? Beeindruckende Distanz...

Danke 😊 Bin extrem froh es noch geschafft zu haben. Hatte nicht so drahtseilnerven u vertrauen wie du, bin echt zu schnell gewesen, sieht man daran dass die spannung wieder hoch gieng als ich zurück bei der wiese war. Ja, stand da bei der kleinen Lichtung nach den bäumen

Zu knapp für mein geschmack 😅 Hab aber einiges gelernt was man besser machen könnnte. Zudem versuche ich noch longrange propeller (2 blade) und 3 blades mit mdehr steigung dür höheree höhenlagen aufzutreiben. Ist aber gar nicht so leicht, 5.1" mit 1.5mm shaft & 3mm oder mehr steigung zu finden, welche auch in die ch liefern. Die 1.5mm shaft, 3loch montage schränkt due vielfalt massiv ein dummerweise. Erhoffe mir damit nochmals längere flugzeiten in grösserer höhenlage

Danke 😊 Ja, kam recht ins schwitzen, dachte das ding fällt mir aus dem himmel u miss es suchen gehen. Konnte danach nicht mehr fliegen, u bin nach hause trotz tageslicht u noch geladenen lipos 😅
