Great Video. How did you use the recording an remove all of the security content? date? etc.
@AndiWofford4 жыл бұрын
@@YourGreaterDestiny Great question! Lorex allows you at least three different ways to grab footage. You can get the raw files, you can record during playback, or you can select a section and download. But to get the highest resolution, I download the raw files, which don't have the text overlayed to on the recordings. Hope that answers your question!

Because of the nature and design, I wouldn't think you'd want to add a microphone and speaker. I'd probably get a second fixed camera to serve that purpose if you had that need in your security system.

Good morning Andi! I was hoping you could help me out! I ordered two of these and plan on putting them on the sides of my RV. I also plan on utilizing your method with the marine board as a backing but I am just going to enlarge the backing so that it will allow the weight to be dispersed more across the wall of the RV. I will put bolts all the way through the wall where it will meet a second marine board of the same size. Bolted down and with some polyurethane sealant should ensure the weight is spread out while incurring high winds as well as dampening provided by the flexible sealant. My question to you is what are the dimensions of the camera mount base? (Width and height) I have not yet received them and would like to get working on the boards as soon as possible. I'm thinking about taking the dimensions of the mount base and adding 1 inch in all directions. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated! Love your video and I am also curious how the cameras have been holding up for you considering their ip66 rating. Thank you so much!
@AndiWofford4 жыл бұрын
Good afternoon! I'll do my best to help you out. I - um - hope your RV doesn't move very much because I'm not so sure I'd want these things hanging off the sides while I was driving down the road unless they're recessed a bit? But that's really none of my business. I like your approach on the install, especially with a second marine board on the inside to shore it up some. Should be a solid install, just make sure you seal the board and potentially the bolts really good around the outside so it doesn't leak into your walls. It just so happens that I have the measurements - and I'll give them to you in inches (hopefully you're in the States, but you can convert if needed). It's 4 and 9/16" by 6 and 3/8" inches. I assume you can tell by the video that it isn't square - the edges are rounded. So this is a measurement from the middle of the plate across. Thanks for the love and the cams are holding up great with the IP66 rating in a marine environment. I wish you were nearby - I'd give you some of this starboard 😂. I've got what's left of that whole sheet.

@@AndiWofford Thank you so so much for the hasty response and all the information! Just if you are curious the RV is a class A Thor Outlaw, I plan on putting one on the front right above the mirror and the back left. I measured the mirrors and they are a little larger than the entire camera and mount so hopefully it blends in well. I also plan on painting the housing and mount black to go with the paint. But your information certainly helped me a great deal. Thanks again and I'll send pics when it's done! Have a great day!

That's a gorgeous coach! I love toy haulers - we considered one for a while. As far as the camera goes - Lorex makes some smaller PTZ cams with less optical zoom than what's on those monsters you're putting on. They would install flatter - amzn.to/2S2g32n and would have a much smaller profile. Now, you'd still get an arm, but it would have a lot less surface area. But you could install them flush with the back side against the coach. I suppose it all depends on what the cams are for. I'd just be worried about that big arm sticking out there. All that being said - I'd love to see pics whne you're done if you're willing to share (no matter what you decide). Have a wonderful day and weekend!

How do these compare to Reolink RLC 823A PTZ?
@AndiWofford2 жыл бұрын
I think the biggest difference is the optical zoom level and the lack of any sort of lights on the Lorex. Lorex has 12x zoom (24x on their new 4k camera - amzn.to/3REw5ey ), while the Reolink is a 5x optical zoom. You also have people detection on the Reolink, and not on the Lorex. This Lorex is targeted more towards businesses, and the Reolink appears targeted towards consumers.

Can you tell me whats the difference between a NVR 'Cloud App'...and a NVR 'Home App' only unit. They both record video and both can be viewed from anywhere on phone...confused
@AndiWofford4 жыл бұрын
From what I can tell, the cloud app is designed for the more "professional" line of DVR, while the home (and cirrus) apps are for consumer based devices (cameras with WiFi and ones that you'd get at Best Buy and Sam's Club).

YOU SHOULD LEAVE THE CABLE THATS PART of the camera inside the goose neck and apply some tune up dialectric grease in the eithernet port and plug it in and out tip it poshes the access grease out and until you hear it click. !!! trust me if moisture or water gets in there... the port will burn and pins will arc and corode and burn. then bolt your assemble back together and voila a single cable hanging out of the camera!!! and i have this camera... its unreal resolution! great optic lense and amazing night vision with zoom too!!! nice custom mount too!!!

Great Video! I have a question please. On recorded footage during playback, are you able to zoom in at the same level of detail as live footage??? Thank you in advance for your time.
@AndiWofford4 жыл бұрын
Hey Carl, thanks. You can zoom in, but it's a digital zoom. You won't get the same style of zoom I'm showing after the fact if you weren't doing it during the recording. You can set up functions where you have the cam pan, tilt, or zoom at times during the day, and those will get captured at whatever level of detail the cam was focused on during playback. I hope that helps.

Is the 'Tour' option built into the camera software, or do you need a specific type of NVR to use this option?? Also, how is the App usability in your opinion?
@AndiWofford4 жыл бұрын
The tour option is built into the the camera itself (you can access it by logging into the camera through the admin username at the cameras IP address), and you can create multiple tours and presets. You do not need an NVR for the tour function. App usability has improved significantly over the years, but I've only used it with an NVR (not as a standalone for the camera). I actually prefer the app to the web/desktop interfaces.

Very cool! I'll check with lorex to see what the full capabilities are, was hoping to be able to automatically capture 360 degrees kinda like the 360 action cams. Maybe they have motion sensing tracking. Funnily enough I'm also looking at getting boat footage. Nice work on the custom brackets btw. Very official looking.

Hi, I just bought the same ptz camera for my house. I did notice that you have your camera completely outdoors without any protection from the elements like rain, sun or else, I was planning to install mine outside of my house in an wall with no protection from rain, sun or snow, the manual recommends to install the camera on a protected wall with some kind of protection from rain but my best place to install it is not covered do you think this camera can hold with out any cover from the elements, is yours still working fine? Any issues?... thanks again
@AndiWofford3 жыл бұрын
This particular camera is an outdoor PTZ camera. So it should withstand the elements if it's installed properly. That means using a boot to protect the ethernet connection and making sure that it's weather sealed. As you may have noticed, I did install this on a boat, which sits on water, which is constantly exposed to elements from all sides. In addition, it's also susceptible to salt water and any effects that may come. It's held up for almost 2 years now with no signs of deterioration. I'd say it could handle the elements pretty well. Good luck with yours and your install! You're going to love it!

Does this PTZ camera have active deterrence and motion detection to follow human detection? It seems if you set tours with the PTZ, you are subject to miss action that may take place when the camera is rotating, especially if someone is smart and notices that the camera is on a rotating tour, and moves opposite the camera movement. I'm not sure if that functionality is a camera feature or an NVR feature. I am putting together a Lorex system and adding cameras to a N882A63B NVR and was interested in this LNZ44P12B camera. Thx!

definitely in a future video emphasize on OPTICAL zoom repeatedly when you upgrade it to 4k, digital zoom is garbage and could be mistaken as newer tech when reality its a feature that should have been banned and graduated from like VHS to Blue ray disc, A-track to SSD, black and white tube tv to color 4k front projector, hand crank cars from back in the day to remote start, wait I'm lmao now?
