I was told when i first started off roading was to start my psi as the size of my rims until i got a feel for my jeep. Example: I have a 17-inch rim, so i started 17psi.

The idea of feul economy vs tire cost is not in issue here in CA. The State tax on gas now exceeds federal tax. That being said, i ran street pressure over rocks and tore a gash into one tire (I didn't think we'd be hitting rocks when we started that unpaved road) Needless to say- even at 35k miles and the fact the company could have claimed road hazard, they replaced the tire.

With the cost of tires I might sacrifice a little bit of fuel economy (which, I have found best fuel economy comes with most even contact patch) 😂

Good general info! However, I'd like to add that for overladers who hit the trail with very warm tires from the highway - typically for me, my 35psi tires may run closer to 42psi. A tire aired down on a hot the afternoon will read several pounds less the next cool morning on the trail - so rechecking would be prudent.

That is a great point. I find my tire pressure varies by 10% hot to cold.

In a stock SUV, with low profit and HT tires, what is the best tires pressure to off road? increase the psi to protect the tire and wheel or deflate? (gravel road and rocks, with uphill) Thanks

And if you dont want to worry about tire pressure at all and you just spent your money on a new driveshaft then round u some old rims that obviously fit your lug pattern or use adapters i dont care, take a side grinder and a 20 count of cheap ceramic cutting wheels and cut out roughly 2 or 2 and a half diameter upside down triangles all around the inner and outer lips of each wheel. Obviously aluminum wheels wont last long so steel wheels are preferred. Oh and dry ground, that is also preferred. I tried this on a two-wheel drive F-150 on just the back wheels and it worked out pretty good. So theres that. Added weight in vehicle helps alot. Aaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnddd GO!!!

Eso es lo que molesta de los Americanistas, lo explico; Dicen, en el América se exige el título ( la burra Alvarez, es el único ente exigente del futbol mexicano, que exige título 😒) no nos ganaron, lo perdimos nosotros, ( si no se hace expulsar Fidalgo ganábamos) en el América, si no son campeones, es un fracaso😂( Pero antes de empezar la liguilla pasada, hizo su evento y reconocimiento al muertin Henry, y también después sus globitos de oro) a lo que voy; no digan que son los únicos del futbol mexicano que se les exige el título, eso es una falta de respeto a los otros 8 equipos que van a pelear en la liguilla, ( o acaso ustedes conocen las pláticas en los vestidores? O en la ofina de los dueños de equipos cuando hablan con los técnicos?) Si tienen exigencia está bien, pero no digan que son los únicos, porque por eso después terminan siendo la burla nacional, por OSICONES, y les recuerdo que en las últimas 10 jornadas, esos equipitos que ustedes no les consideran exigencias, han Sido campeones, este último Tigres, RESPETO americanistas🤫.
