If your losing dice rolls at your locals, here's a little trick. Call low roll instead of high roll to see who goes first. It works pretty well for me. Or switch between calling high roll and low roll in the first two rounds to test your luck.

i think you could have benefitted from using tms more. shock wave for the gyaradoses and solar beam for blastoise. also rock slide move tutor for various flying types.

Targets like Venemoth that can be hit by either AP or Earthquake take more from Earthquake even if AP is super effective. The Rock Slide Tutor is right along the main route, gives you way more PP and 15 base power higher. Similar principle with Aerial Ace. It's not giving you extra coverage on Fighting types because Earthquake does more damage after STAB. Return, Solar Beam, or Fire Blast would have gotten you more mileage
