@dasbose9999 I agree and probably my taste in music has changed over the years but last album (The Stage) was my favorite from them, they took a prog metal approach and I enjoyed every single song from that album. Now... as for this new album... not so much. But Brooks on The Stage was a breath of fresh air.

13:16. My dude, to me this has been the most interesting thing you've done in a while. I might just borrow this format and try it for myself. Showing the struggle and seeing how you learn is great fun to watch. It also greatly increased my appriciation for this song, because I didn't really like it when I listened to it at first. This song has some killer fills and is filled with great details. Things you only hear when you carefully listen.

These type of videos are awesome!! We see the final product of the covers but we don’t really see the BTS of actually learning a song. 🔥 We’re all humans and even the best gotta learn new stuff at times & seeing you Cobus learn a song this difficult is just extremely satisfying. Super cool series, and so much fun to see everyone’s different processes for learning and learning a song quickly. Loved this video! Also, your double bass struggles just prove you’re human. Man I can relate to this struggle when learning a new song. The ups and downs of emotions. Like you're happy you're getting some parts right then you mess up some parts up, almost sometimes giving up and calling myself stupid for not getting it right. It works out eventually.

Ton of fun to watch you work dude, keep it up. I've done string instruments for 25 years now, and it's always interesting to hear how others deal with limits or with certain things they struggle with. I have a ton of trouble with doing anything over 64th notes with bow-work for violin. I dunno if it is coordination or practice (probably some of both), but either way I hafta work around it in different ways like slurring or masking it. Also struggle a ton with proper vibrato with my pinky finger. Every musician has things they struggle with, so you aren't alone. Absolute legend!

I think this video was the perfect example that also really good drummers struggle sometimes and its not always as easy as it looks. Watching drum covers sometimes gives me the feeling, that im actually bad at drumming. Watching people "easily" cover hard drum tracks (at least they make it look easy) and then trying the songs myself, just to completely fail, is kinda heartbreaking :D But that video just reminds you that these songs are just written and played by world class musicians and it's simply not easy to cover them. Thanks Cobus, keep it up!!
