6:50 Actually color isn't subjective as you would think. What it is though is different depending on the cones that are in your eyes. Some people, even without color blindness, are able to see certain shades better than other people. For example, I myself can see reds a little bit easier than my brother who can see Blues easier than I can. But we're not colorblind. Simply some of our cones are stronger than others. And this isn't uncommon. As for the two shades of the platform you showed, It's more of a magenta and that's classified as pink. However, magenta is an interesting color. Because by all technicalities it doesn't exist. Our brains connect the weird wavelength color that is between red and violet. This is also why we can't see ultraviolet yet quite a few insects can. However, if you were to view a Wii motion sensor bar while it's on through a phone camera or even a regular camera, It gives off a bluish purple light. That is the closest thing we could get to seeing ultraviolet. Tldr yes, that is actually pink.

6:50 no, Color is *not* subjective. There are two systems which strictly define colors. Pink is when you mix magenta with white, or in RGB value, those blocks *ARE* pink, it’s called hot pink, or neon pink. That is pink. The only Color to be subjective is orange and brown, since that is contexual. Every other Color has a very defined hue and saturation.

There isn’t much subjectivity in what a color is named, again, excluding brown since it is a dark orange with lighter context around it. Complex colors go under a few common names, but that doesn’t make it subjective.

@@Albinojackrussel also, red + white usually makes pink (in one Color system, CYMK) so the name makes sense, technically orange pink. Under RGB it’s actually magenta, white, and orange. This is where a lot of people get confused, yes. Two color systems exist, CYMK, which is what we use for dyes and paints, and RGB, which is what we use for electronic devices, particularly lit. These systems work entirely differently and mixing colors in one system is not the same as mixing colors in the other. Pink in CYMK is red + white. But in RGB, it is magenta + white, since to get white in RGB, you need to desaturate your original color, so adding white hue shifts it to pink. Despite these systems combining colors differently, colors they output are still named the same thing and can be translated between each other. Note that not all colors are named, and this is why there is multiple names for very specific colors, because when we talk about near-identical colors, they are usually given the same name as the Color it is closest to.
