How FAST is the FMS Integral 80mm EDF Jet?

This is the newest RC jet in the FMS fleet, the Integral 80mm EDF. In our maiden flight a lot of people gave us a hard time when we said it goes 150mph...so here is the proof! Ok we rounded up by 1mph, but still yeah its fast out of the box. Also FMS calls this a beginner jet, but we in no way shape or form think that. What do you think? Y'know... that jet reminds me of something that "Marvin the Martian" from Looney Tunes might fly! LOL! Those scimitar flight surfaces and bubble canopy as well as the colours make it remind me of that.

Yes, That was a very un-called for comment from RcSaylors. Horizon Hobby has plenty of problems themselfs getting things shipped out along with over selling there inventory. One of my recent orders from HH show instock for 4 days after I made the order and then they backordered it because they over sold. Another recent order said shipped but after 10days I contacted them and it really hadn't shipped.

I honestly thought it would just barely break 100mph when we started this. 150 mph is wild! Somehow it just doesn’t “look” like it’s going that fast, but we tested this again for consistency and it was spot on both times! 👍💯😎⚓️

I've used a bunch of GPS receivers that gave spurious peak readings that are 15 to 20 percent higher than true figures. I got readings of over 140 mph spikes on dives on an Avanti but the truth is that those readings are way off. GPS's work by sampling lat/long periodically, usually between 5-10 times a second. Speed is calculated by dividing the calculated distance travelled by the sampling time, but sometimes the actual distance computed between two points is off, and the resultant computing speed is off as well. A good (expensive) GPS uses a sophisticated filter to smoothen out or even drop outlier points - or you'd end up with false peaks. There is NO way you got close to 150 mph unless you modded the plane to include a 4000 to 5000 watt custom EDF setup that is needed for this plane to fly at that speed. There are lots of other FMS integral owners who got 120-130 mph and that would be a more reasonable peak speed.

Honestly, yeah you’re not wrong! That Sabre is beautiful and my favorite foam thing I own. This doesn’t even come remotely close to that, but I have enjoyed my short time with it so far. When I fly the Sabre I’m thinking “Don’t crash, it’s too beautiful!” But with this I definitely don’t have those same jitters. It’s ugly, yes. But it’s strangely growing on me! 😅💯⚓️

Hi RCSaylors, I am a new subscriber to your channel and plan to get into the hobby. But first, I am shopping for a transmitter. I have been looking at your videos and noticed that since around the release of the NX7E (late December), you transitioned to the NX7E from the NX8. I think I should get the NX7E as it is cheaper and has a reasonable number of channels, especially for me. Could you please explain why a big hobbyist like yourself began using the NX7E rather than the NX8? Is there a difference besides the channel amount?

Why was Barbie climbing inside the jet engine? That rainbow thing wasn’t a sun dog. Sun dogs are formed in really cold weather where ice crystals in the air will reflect the sun on either side of the sun making it look like there are three suns in the sky.

In 1982 I joined the U.S. Air Force my first duty station was Hurlbert Field, Florida (in the panhandle of Florida) where I met and married my Florida wife, on December 7, 1985 in +50 degree weather. Then 20 days later Uncle Sam gave us an all expense paid honeymoon to Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota where it was -20 degrees not counting the windchill . 🥶 I’m no longer in the military but we are still married and living in South Dakota! 🥳 My wife even started to enjoy the snow and cold up north. 😉
