I caught 22 fish on half day with a 4000 spinning reel at 800 feet…. 16 ounce sinker and doubled up every drop, so I definitely understand wanting to use the electric reel

For the rock fish regulations, be careful. To my knowledge, you need to be fishing past the 50 fathom line. There is some areas past the 50 fathom line and its only 250 feet deep for example and you are allowed to fish. There is also area where its well over 300 feet deep but it is not past the 50 fathom line so you are not allowed to rock fish.

Brih I been thinking of taking my 16 ft inflable heat welded Saturn boat woth aluim floor witch is a beast it can hol a 40 hp outboard more ot has 5 chambers in is very strong my onl fear is a bog ass shark or not knowing how to get back from we’re you left lol lol do you use your gps on your phone tho amd no a shakr can’t take my boat down it has 5 chambers so even is 2 are bitten stil can make it back no problem tho have you seen any bog sharks out there

Dude, don't back off after you hit the fish. Reel and keep pressure after the hook set. You hit the fish a rope the rod back down. Hit the fish and keep the rod tip pressure. Not slingshot a loop down your line with that Strange hook set of yours.

I hate to be that guy, but taking a sea-doo across the San Pedro Channel is completely idiotic. When something eventually goes wrong, i hope the coast guard bills you for every dime for the rescue, which will definitely be more than the price of a nice boat.
