Very good video you have done ? Most of the foreign people in Finland only looks the things what they see in day light , you have gone with this video deeper in your soul and and also in the Finnish soul. Very good journey in the depth of our mind.

A very nice analysis and I guess, comparison between Finland and Japan. Japan in one of the countries I definitely want to visit one day. I feel like finnish and japanese culture have quite a bit in common, like not expressing yourself too loudly, being polite to people, a certain touch of humility and so on.

Hi, it was nice to find your video! A week ago I was seated next to a Japanese lady flying from Frankfurt to Osaka via Helsinki. We found a lot of things to talk about, and also quite a much similarities between our nationalities. She made my day by giving an apple when surprisingly there was only coffee and tea to buy on board. I'm so happy to say she and you are nice guys, and now there's a new unforgettable friend somewhere in Osaka...her name means "Daughter of Brightness" in Japanese.

I think Finland changed me the same way. I lived there for 11 years and my life got simpler and calmer as a result. I also relate to the fashion style part. I used to be fashionable (didn't like it, though) and now I wear minimalistic and practical clothes. Whenever I go back to my country I cringe seeing women wearing luxurious items and high-fashion clothes. I'm glad I still feel like a Finn even though I'm not living there anymore :)

I really enjoy the simple lifestyle as well. It's an interesting realization, that so many of the things we keep and strive for, are actually burdens. The basics are more important. What good is earning a million, if I don't know how to live life without spending it all? A lot of "successful" people are trapped by their own expensive habits in this way. Being able to exist with little, offers a powerful sense of freedom. And the savings go up, like you say! :) Hello from Denmark!

Yes, and I guess Denmark has similar way of thinking that values simple lifestyle as far as I understand :)

@@DAIKIFinlandLife Overall, yes, pretty similar! Though it depends a bit on the region, this is a common trait in most Nordics. I used to find the place a bit boring, but now that I'm older I can appreciate it! :)

From where I come, North Savonia, people are much less straightforward and are kind of expected to read the athmosphere. For a while after moving elsewhere (culturally speaking, to western Finland), I was at times shocked about the directness. The second time I was shocked was when I returned to Finland from Japan, even that it was only a two week trip.

It might even happen that my friend comes back to ask if they forgot something or forgot to say something 😆 it's really great to hear what you think about Finnish culture and also to to learn Japanese behavioral culture.
