Angelina had recently turned 9 years old when she created her arrangement, then delivered this powerful, emotional performance. She was already a national treasure in Norway after winning Norway's Got Talent. Angelina's wise and loving family refuted the record companies, then traveled the world. She opened for Norah Jones in South Korea at age 11. She opened the show for Quincy Jones's 85th birthday celebration, at the O2 Arena in London, at age 12. Angelina got the Golden Buzzer on AGT The Champions, at age 13, for her genius arrangement of "Bohemian Rhapsody". She signed with Republic Records at age 14 but is still not being fully promoted. The musical rabbit hole that Angelina inhabits is more like Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico...about 250 KZbin and TikTok recordings, two EPs (one at 11, another at 17), about a dozen original songs so far...public concerts worldwide from the age of 8...now 18 and performed in Las Vegas at the venue Elvis Presley used for over 600 performances. She has a new concert with new songs on September 20th in Glendale California. So her career is beginning to take off. I am 81 years old and have been following Angelina for the past 5 years. By 3 she was already using her mother's (Sara) laptop to find jazz music to study! Her Grand Mother is the one who got her into Jazz! At 3 she was also asking her mother to get her on that "SIMON show" (Am. Got Talent). She auditioned for Norway's got Talent at 7 where her first song "Gloomy Sunday" went viral world wide! She won the show after turning 8 with an amazing performance of "Summertime"! From then till now she has continued to amaze not only her fans (Angels) but also almost everyone in the entertainment industry! At 13 she finally got to sing for that "Simon guy" on AGT the champions! Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on KZbin. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on KZbin went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on KZbin. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. Angelina started singing at 18 months old, became addicted to jazz at 2 after grandma Mery (a iranian artist, painter and poet film maker) played some jazz music. As she got older Angelina has spent 6hrs a day, six days a week on her craft. AJ is the future of music. She is possibly the greatest storyteller to have lived, and thats not my opinion, those are words from the execs at her label who gave her everything she wanted. She was signed at 14yo. The amazing Angelina who actually arranged this performance herself at 9 years old, paying tribute to the original artist Screaming J Hawkins , she is commanding the performance Angelina is the boss, Angelina takes a classic song and makes the song her own and still pays tribute to the original artist,her fans who are named Angels portrayed Angelina as the barefoot Queen of jazz and soul with a thousand different styles and voices, Angelina can sing any genre,and is in my view the most talented artist around today, I have attended many live concerts from this musical genius, twice in her country Norway 🇳🇴 once when AJ was 12 and again at 16 years old, also a live concert in Portsmouth USA 🇺🇸 and in Las Vegas when AJ was 17 years old, Angelina is phenomenal to listen to at any age, she has around 200 upgrades of covers and around 15 original songs, Angelina signed with Republic records at 14 years old and her uncle Mike is her manager and Angelina’s grandmother is involved with production, two times Grammy award winning Rob Christie the musical director of Republic records is featured in many of Angelina’s performances as the pianist, Angelina a contestant on AGT champions at 13 years old,with her own arrangement of Queens Bohemian Rhapsody received the golden buzzer from Judge Heidi Klum and progressed to the final of the show, the band Queen were so impressed with Angelina’s own arrangement of their classic song, Queen gave Angelina the copyright to her arrangement of Bohemian rhapsody, Angelina has a concert in California on the 20th September and I cannot wait to see her live again, her stage presence is stunning her live vocals phenomenal, welcome to this special young artist, great reaction thanks 🙏

Her grandmother Mery started her on jazz when she was around 3 years old. Jazz is definitely her lane but she can sing any genre. She won Norway's got talent at age 8 and it wasn't even close.. she's got well north of 200 videos on KZbin a dozen or so of her own originals to boot...

Well, welcome to the AJ Rabbit Hole! She started singing at the age of 18 months! You are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Even though she has been compared by many to Amy Winehouse, her major influence is Billie Holiday. Other influences are Dinah Washington, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Etta James, Whitney Houston, and Adele to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. In 2014, she entered at age 7 and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, "Wow, what a rendition!" For Queen to respond to someone covering one of their songs is quite a feat since they rarely react to anyone. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity. Now 18 years old, living in Los Angeles, and currently signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her family and Republic Records had agreed not to heavily promote her just yet so she can live as normal of a life as possible and finish her schooling. From what we know, she is finally done with school. She had a single that came out May 5th called Love Don't Let Me Go, a new EP called Old Enough that came out Friday, July 21st, 2023, a newly released video of her new song called Now I'm The Fool, and a new album of original music which will be coming out some time this year. Angelina released her new single, Our Time, and is fantastic! She returned back to Norway and performed at a number of sold out concerts in which fans from around the world came to see her. Many of the fans there said she sounded better live in person and was a once in a lifetime experience. On September 22, 2023, Angelina had her first U.S. concert that sold out in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. On December 11, 2023, she was asked to come back and perform at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. She first performed at this prestigious event in 2014 when she was 8. On Feb.29th, 2024, she performed 2 shows on one night at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino. A film crew followed her and created a documentary of her called Angelina Jordan: 10 Years In The Making which premiered on her official KZbin channel on March 29th, 2024. Currently, she is working with 3 time Grammy winner songwriter/producer Toby Gad creating new original music for her to sing. Gad has co-wrote and produced such big hits like All Of Me by John Legend, Big Girls Don't Cry by Fergie, If I Were A Boy by Beyonce, and Skyscraper by Demi Lovato and a number of others. Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a poor shoeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to sing for the whole world, and the girl said she would pray for her success. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. One of the reasons why we love her so much!
