However, despite all of this, some argue that this business model is not sustainable because it hurts everybody involved in the transaction: the restaurant, the delivery workers, the customers and even the companies themselves.

I feel conflicted about gig food delivery. It's exploitative and pays poorly, but the flexibility is exactly what some people need. It's a critical lifeline for many of my disabled friends, but the high price adds to their burdens. As you said, nobody is winning.

in india and china, the densely populated metropolitan and cheap labor might make delivery business viable. but i think its nothing to boast about. Have you ever seeing delivery man sitting on motorbikes swiping on phones expressionless outside restaurants? Its sad.

Their logistics and orders not being picked up are the two biggest issues. They also spend too much on advertising. There is no minimum order amount, and no borders on zones.
