He was never gonna work cos we never played the system that can bring out his strengths and at the same time we couldn't cos that sacrificed a lot more just to cater around 1 player. In the first place he suited a Liverpool or City more than us and would have balled out for either of those.

This was one heck of a fun season. So many academy folks burst into the scene, Pulisic was on Hazard level, and even with this squad we got top 4 and a cup final. Thank you Lampard !

Wow, fhis is nostalgic. I remember how anxious I felt before the start of this season. We had a transfer ban, Hazard and Luiz left. Things looked pretty grim. Thought we'd finish at 10th or something. But then the season started and to my surprise most of the youth players over-oerformed, we just lost Hazard but it felt like we got a replacement straight away in Pulisic. Tammy Abraham felt like the second coming of Drogba. Our attack was just flawless! But defense was the main issue, I remember we conceded in almost every set piece and Kepa always played so bad. But then the season ended and we finished 4th and reached the FA CUP finals with a young squad, our best player leaving and a transfer ban. We definitely overachieved that season!

We were really decent under Lampard in that season, i can remember how decisive Willian was for the team as well as new inductees like Abraham and Mount. Chelsea deserved to be in Top 4 then , it was full of ups and downs and that's part and parcel of football but the essential was to grab that fourth place and we reached the cup final !
