Mazroui is different from Dalot. He runs in spaces,can close control ball and create spaces to play one touch. Antony can never be Amad,he cannot beat fullbacks one v one like amad does but he surely can create space and play one touch football to create chances. Dalot is a great fullback for Amad,he can go wide,can come in,can run with the ball but his one touch passing to create space isnt great. He can cross through and overlap with a zip something which Mazroui cant. So the fullbacks do match the profile we have in right side. Even on the left side,Rashford productivity increases dramatically with Shaw inclusion while Garnacho doesnt look that bothered with whom he plays. U think its more of a player thing aswell. Casemiro also looks good when he has someone to cover him. Maino doesnt do this. So,we have added good profiles in our squad to match. Shaw and Malacia should come back and make our left back stronger. With Hojlund and maybe Yoro and Mount returning together,we will have a full squad in mud october and then we will know,how strong we are.

Yes, it was "just Barnsley", no, i don't think we gonna win the lot because of this match. BUT. I could literally tell, the players HAD FUN out there on the pitch. We saw a pattern of play, we scored 7 goals, and this will bring alot of momentum into the next game. When did we controll a game at this rate last time? I can't even remember if we ever did. EVEN against a league 1 team, we wouldn't do this last season. So no, nobody can tell me this wasnt a good game, even though it was against a poor Barnsleyteam. KEEP THE ENERGY FROM THIS GAME!

That first goal against Liverpool when Case give away the ball in the middle I saw back that same play in this game but you know what the difference was he made the right past to the right back. Eriksen can’t put this performance against high teams because he performance capacity is too low in almost all the attributes of a midfield player .

The guy would create scoring chances because of his creativity left and right. In a game we seek to kill with counter plays you have to have Eriksen on the field. The guy knows how to effectively assist your striker, Bruno and him understand each other.

We have improved on shot on goal and shot on target since season starts which is quite interest stat as compare to previous 2 seasons, hopefully Ruud van Nistelrooy really help the team on shooting and score more goals

There is another thing to consider about this match: we used MOSTLY 2nd team players AND won 7-0. Our first team wasn’t doing that last season let alone our second team. Also, when a few more first team players came in we steamrolled them even more.

Dear TSR, great analysis, but it’s hard to ignore some of the negative aspects of our game. We still struggle to play out from the back, often looking shaky in our own third. When we press high and push the defensive line up, there are big gaps on the flanks, and we lack creativity in possession. These were issues last season, and they haven't been addressed yet.

So we have a GK with personality that stopped a penalty, the 2 best CBs in Martinez and De Ligt, best progressive RB Mazraoui, the most reliable player, Diogo, as LB. The fighting spirit of Ugarte in front defending the back line high. Then let's bring on creativity with Zirksee and Bruno. Rashi and Garna deserve a chance to repeat the performance. Matches versus the so-called lesser teams for United were always like a banana skin. Hardly convincing performances which resulted in unconvincing wins, Newport and Coventry is another. United should built on this and shut out the media who will cry it’s only Barnsley. But it’s the point really, United have struggled before and last night was the exception. ten Hag rotated too, massively as well and it can’t be analyzed in isolation.. we should take the positives from this and build on it.

I thought Barnsley were very aggressive with their pressing for the first 15 minutes and were catching United out and causing underhit and mishit passes. Beating any team be it Barnsley or Liverpool, you have to put in the work, you have to be focussed and you have to have patterns of play that are straightforward to follow. Garnacho's first goal came from Rashford trying to dribble through 4 players but caused a panic which lead to the ball breaking through to Garnacho. Erikson's second goal came from quick one-touch play that did not have to be intricate if you could see where the best place to play the pass was.

Mr Scarlet Report, can you do a video that break downs Utd’s build up? Am I missing something? All i see if the team is setup to play with speed and through the middle, but we always go to the wings (fullbacks) and then gets stuck or trapped when setting our own traps. They’ll always slow down n go back to the centrebacks n move sideways. Why cant the centrebacks bring the ball forward and use bounce passes to quickly transition forward

I'll tell you why Barnsley played like that because they were influenced by the premier league and how shit we were last season, couldn't play from the back etc. So, they underestimated us in thinking they can do the same if they play a high line and high pressing game, but little did they know that we are Manchester United biggest football club in the world.
