The US vetoed yet another UN resolution calling for an urgent humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, showcasing the flagrant double standard for the so-called “rules-based international order.” The West regularly deploys the use of international law when it serves their interests, as in the case of the International Criminal Court’s warrant for Russia’s President Putin, but has provided Israel with impunity in the face of blatant violations of international law. Russia responded reluctantly to eight years of shelling by the Keeev regime, and did so with minimal force, and immediately began to seek a negotiated peace.
