Maybe they're magnets with magnetic implants in his bone to hold it in place, like what we have today with facial prosthetics.

Odd, I remember ST Academy for the SNES getting bad reviews and the PC Version very good ones. As for the story of KA, after it, I've got the impression Chang was rather "happy" to be defeated by Kirk in ST VI. Otherwise he would have died in dishonor as an old man on his bed.

I remember getting this game when it came out, I thought it was brilliant. The game physics were so far ahead for the time, battle damage, inertia, power macros, variety of environments, sub system targeting, etc were all excellent. Only now games like space engineers are catching up in terms of physics to a game that was released 20 years ago!
