Was chemical warfare effective or just used as a scare tactic ?

The Germans also tested Cyclone B in Belgium during WW1. The wife of the inventor committed suicide when she heard about the use.

This take is kinda one dimensional: Yes a very small fraction of the lives taken in that war was due to chemical warfare, but thats not the only way to win a war: The other is financially constricting your opposition. The gas weapons were extremely inexpensive to produce, but the protection equipment, ventilation system etc etc cost a fortune. So it definitely achieved its goal of making the allies maximise spending on an issue that didnt exist before the war.

True but in 50 seconds complex takes are difficult to make

you know what? I've thought about it a bit, and youre absolutely right: It's not incorrect just because it's a smaller window of all the info. I'm sorry, my bad.

But German had to do the same thing, because Allies also could produce cheap gas. Expensive, difficult to produce weapons win the wars, because it is difficult to match them quickly

Yeah the British were the ones who first used mustard gas!.... The Germans had won WW1 in 2yrs with Britain begging for a peace treaty..... Then the bankers wanted the Balfour agreement.
