1.) The Bonwire Kente Weaving Center should start a website so that they can get direct orders from everyone everywhere. This should definetly help to cut down on couterfiets........or just make an Etsy store. 2.) They should make an additional thing where each weaver should be treated as an artist. They should be able to sew some sort of......i dunno..........small piece of cloth on their created cloths that has some sort of signature unique to them. I know they love what they do and wouldnt be doing it if they didnt..........but i think it would go MILES for both them, Their customers, and the Weaving Center as a whole if customers were to get to know the creators of their fabric that they cherish. That they arent a faceless collective of people in Ghana that make this amazing cloth. Customers will get to know the artist.......ESPECIALLY the ones that can do the triple weave......and they could have fans everywhere that prefer their style of weaving over maybe another. 3.) New idea. make smaller strips......sew them onto jeans as decoration for the new generation. It would be fashion, yes, but what i would do is also alongside of just having a patch of Kente cloth sewed onto stylish jeans, each created pair of pants will always come with a piece of paper telling the buyer more about this cloth, what it means, the heritage behind it, and what it means when you wear it. it woulnt be just another fashionable piece of clothing but would cross that boundary of being fashionable for young people.........but also introduce them to a culture that they never knew. This was a very good video thank you~!

Why can't the Ghana government ban the importation of Chinese counterfeit kente fabric. They must seek WTO help in banning the Chinese from producing counterfeits of what is a national heritage. Just as America will take on the Chinese for making cloned and counterfeit IPhones and other American products, the Ghana government must do same to protect Ghana's heritage

I'm Jamaican as well. You're mostly right about African origins. Our African origins are mostly: Ghanaian - Mostly Akan (Ashanti, Fante, Brong etc), Ewe, Ga-Adangbe and even some northern Ghanaians Southern Nigerian - Igbo (a lot of Igbo slaves went to Jamaica), Yoruba, Ijaw, Efik, Ibibio etc Western Congolese - Bakongo, Sangha, Beteke etc.

Thank you for showing how Kente is made. I love kente. The history, the colours, the patterns... I want some authentic kente cloth. 4. That 13 year old kid has some mad weaving skills. 5. I wished you explored more of Kumasi. It has a wonderful history being that it was the capital of the Ashanti/Asante Kingdom/Empire. 6. The food looked good. What was it? 7. Bright colours look great on chocolate skinned women. All in all. Great video and thanks again.
